NLPRacing
If I don't get any more takers, I'm changing my location to "Metro Sexual" I live in Metro Plex (Actually Arlington, Texas, home to Jerry's World & Super Bowl XLV, in the heart of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex). Also, Arlington, Texas is the largest city in the world without public transportation! Maybe that's why Ford sponsors the Cowboys. NickF1011
You aren't thinking very clearly there tonight Nick. Ford sales are up 24% over last year and Taurus sales were DOWN. Expedition and Crown Vic sales were UP in year to year comparisons. So yes, Taurus was a laggard this month. They didn't join the UP party. Expedition and Crown Vic did. So if Ford sold 1 Crown Victoria this month last year, and 2 this month this year, it'll be doing gangbusters because it increased 100%? Percentage changes don't really mean squat. It's about volume...and Taurus volume was just fine compared to the "excellent performers" you cited. And why not mention the MKZ if you were basing your argument on percentages? It was up 48%!! Year to date sales: Taurus: 63,204 (that's up by 64%) Crown Victoria: 30,420 (that's down slightly by 0.6%) MKZ: 20,033 (that's up slightly by 0.7%) The big difference is the retail price of Taurus and MKZ versus the fleet only Crown Victoria. even if Taurus and PI only pick up half of those monthly CV sales, Ford will see huge cost savings Edited December 3, 2010 by jpd80
atomcat68
To bring up a different point, Many are critical about Lincolns looking like "tarted up Fords", but look at the sales numbers and the two strong selling Lincolns, are the MkX and MkZ(the very two that look the most like their Ford counterparts). The others are not strong sellers.
