fordmantpw
On that interior pic, I had to look closely to see that it wasn't a Ram, but the air vents are straight from a Ford.

PREMiERdrum
Toyota exec 1: "Americans think the Tundra is ugly, how do we fix that?"Toyota exec 2: "We need to make the grille bigger!" Toyota exec 1: "Excellent idea. Let's throw one of those Navigator-style chrome mustaches on it, too. Those things ooze luxury."
92LX302
The interior looks like what a Lariat Super Duty would looks with a console shifter..
PREMiERdrum
Interior is a dramatic improvement. The truck that pulls our drumline equipment trailer (I am the instructor) is a 2009 Tundra, and the biggest complaint, besides being generally ugly on the outside, was the ill-designed, poorly assembled, and hard plastic interior. 92LX302
Father's selling RVs... Most people that come to looks at 30+ foot trailers with Toyota have to call their dealership and send them the specs to get the approval to haul it with their Tundra without voiding the warranty... And most of the time they're denied.
PREMiERdrum
...and that it is, well.....a Toyota.... The obvious notwithstanding. We have an old, gutted International bus used for drums and uniforms, an old Grumman box van for wind instruments, and a long trailer for all our front ensemble equipment. Whichever truck-owning parent volunteers to haul it for the season wins. I don't get a brand preference.
spotdog14
The grill is one of the worst things I have ever seen. Here is another link: http://www.autoblog.com/2013/02/07/2014-toyota-tundra-chicago-2013/
92LX302
I love how everybody on AB praise the 'embossed tailgate', while the Super Duty had it since 2008..
FordBuyer
Not impressed. Toyota is getting more conservative, not less. Same drivetrain, just different styling as in more bling and rugged looks to copy the Americans. I will say this though....designed in Ann Arbor, MI and assembled in U.S.A. The lines between what is American and foreign are blurrying more and more. I hate to say it, but as years pass, I find Toyota, Nissan, and Honda in particular to be about as American as you can get any more. The traditionally Big Three really have to up their game as they have been doing, since less and less Americans buy into that kind of loyalty anymore. NickF1011
I love how everybody on AB praise the 'embossed tailgate', while the Super Duty had it since 2008.. And Mustang bumpers had it as far back as like 1987.
Bryan1
No changes to the powertrains, same chasis and frame, no changes to the cabs or bed configurations, front bumper design is uglier, interior is nothing special.
papilgee4evaeva
How Toyota managed to amalgamate F-Series, Silverado, AND Ram styling cues, I'll never figure out. Like I commented on Autoblog, Tundra's only competition now is with the next Titan. For fourth place.

And I think Ford should paint them like this instead of being body colored. It's amazing what a difference this makes! EDIT: I know, the truck was dirty, but you get the idea. 92merc
Looks like they are putting regular door handles on the back doors. Never cared for the look of the rear ones being almost hidden, but regular ones up front.

NickF1011
Nice! Is yours painted? I cheated and used vinyl "stickers". I originally had vinyl ones. They started to shrink and peel after awhile. Those ones are actually the stainless steel inserts you may have seen around and I had those painted individually.

RichardJensen
This is what an American designer thinks his Japanese boss thinks American truck drivers want. Edited February 8, 2013 by RichardJensen

I'm thinking about doing the same thing in black on my LX, but I fear it might looks out of place. However my tails are tinted and my hatch windows is tinted 5%. Maybe if I had pre-91 black body moldings..
