fuzzymoomoo
I just heard from a friend of mine who was told by his team leader that C-crew is getting shit-canned and our last day is June-28th. Anyone else heard this?

fuzzymoomoo
Anyone who isn't tier 2 I would imagine would wind up in Flat Rock. Word is they are opening up a third shift soon to help meet international demand for the mustang. The rest of us are probably out of a job Edited April 14, 2015 by fuzzymoomoo
Pioneer
Don't count on being out if a job. They always need people at The Rouge.
damagedone37
Rouge has approx 180 LTS according to our chairman. These people would have to be displaced before any 2nd tier would be completely laid off. Most will probably end up at FRAP and backfill LTS terminations at DTP
fuzzymoomoo
What do you mean displaced? I didn't know they moved LTS employees and I can't imagine they would give them an ILO this close to summer.
fuzzymoomoo
The more I think about it, the more I realize I might be reading more into the whole "no recall or transfer rights thing" than I probably should Edited April 14, 2015 by fuzzymoomoo
madime39
Isn't shutdown the weeks of June 22 and June 29? (I haven't seen/heard that officially, only going by info in another thread.) Why would last day for C-crew be June 28??
fuzzymoomoo
I had it confirmed, C-crew is going away June 22nd. MAP will go down to a 2 crew schedule.
BigDeal
Can they run 2 shifts with out keeping some of the entry level people?
fuzzymoomoo
They can, I'm just worried about me and all my friends who are on C-crew that are about to lose our jobs
chassisgroupleader
Wow! Hope everything turns out alright and the C-crew never ends!
Footballfan
Nice. The same day they announce $2.5 billion in Mexico, they lay off a shift. I thought MAP was supposed to be a flex plant that could produce everything Ford made. Why not move some overflow production there?
nmsford
Van Dyke laid off some entry level a few months ago and every one of them went to Sterling. I can't see Ford shit canning all tier 2 at MAP. I'm sure there are spots that need filling at other plants. Odds are you guys will end up somewhere better like Sterling or Livonia. The jobs at parts plants are 1000 times better than what you're doing now.

I thought MAP was supposed to be a flex plant that could produce everything Ford made. Why not move some overflow production there? I'm not super informed on the situation, but I think the reason they don't build more at MAP is because of a lack of space for parts. There's not much room to spare as it is. deflep1
Good luck to those effected at MAP. We at FRAP are getting the new Lincoln Continental (renamed MKS) next year, and are starting the right hand drive Mustangs soon. A third shift will be added if the demand is high enough for the exported Mustangs. Nothing is confirmed yet. If we do add a shift, I hope they allow enough MAP workers to transfer to Flat Rock so that the second tier workers can keep their jobs at MAP. A fourth car would be added if we go to 3 shifts, probably low volume like the Continental. Hopefully some of our formers workers who left the week before we found out about getting the Fusion will finally have their chance to return!
