silvrsvt
Looks like a Volt and the last gen Prius had a baby. Doesn't look bad but doesn't look great either
RichardJensen
Great googly moogly, that is about as blatant a Prius ripoff as I could imagine. I mean, I swear my first thought was "Why would Toyota build a badge-engineered Prius for Hyundai?"

rmc523
Is that front end completely flat? Almost looks like it from the first pic in the thread.
J-150
Elantra front end. Fine. Them use the Prius roofline with Fusion taillights on a Honda Crosstour rear end. I thought Peter what's - his - name was supposed to be the greatest auto designer alive?
fordmantpw
Hmmm, I think I like it. And 40% thermal efficiency is pretty impressive. I hope their DCT is much better than what's in the Focus, though I didn't see if it was wet or dry clutch.
Tx-wizard
I like the official pic a little better but it's still way too Prius for me
92merc
That back window must be horrible to look out of. Had a Prius rental and took it back mostly because you can't see Jack out the back.
bzcat
This will be the first car in the world to be available in Hybrid, PHEV, and EV form. I'm hoping whatever dedicated hybrid car that Ford is working on for the next generation Focus platform takes a similar approach in terms of powertrain choices.

bzcat
just my non-engineer-imho, FoMoCo could have already done those with the MKZ  ....not saying it'd've been brilliant, tho still worth-doing imho Probably not... unless you want the entire trunk and most of the rear seat taken up by batteries. Roughly speaking, the ratio of batteries between Hybrid, PHEV, and pure EV in the same vehicle is 1:2:4. Look at the trunk of Fusion Energi... where is Ford going to find room in the MKZ for a pure EV version? This is the reason why Focus EV has no cargo space... I think Ford will need a clean sheet design to accommodate all that batteries for EV version - in places like under the seats and sandwiched in the floor board like the new VW e-Golf/Audi A3 etron and Chevy Bolt (and of course this Hyundai). Hence we have to wait until the next generation of C and CD platform. Edited January 12, 2016 by bzcat
