Probably of little consequence anyway, and if Ford can maximize Ranger profits by only offering higher margin configurations it will make up for lower Ranger production. Ford Pro = Transit! Maverick sells well in fleet, so I'm sure the Ranger will be fine. I have seen many new Canyons used in fleet, even though it is the premium of the Colorado. Now that you mention it, I think Maverick takes the place of the cheap Ranger for fleets and buyers who actually need Ranger towing or payload will gladly pay extra. 7Mary3
I have been seeing quite a few Maverick's in fleet service. It's a little early to tell, but it seems that much Ford's recent fleet success is not coming from traditional cab and chassis trucks like the Super Duty line. It seems to be coming from lighter vehicles like the Transit and now possibly the Maverick. The funny thing is the Ford Pro website emphasizes telematics and connectivity over eveything else, you have to scroll down clear to the bottom of the page to actually see the vehicles. Ford sometimes becomes more focussed on perifial product rather than the vehicles themselves....FORDPASS was another they rammed down dealers throats...forget the actual sellable product, make sure you sign everyone up for FORDPASS or youll lose Dealer incentives....years and years ago it was all about getting e-mail adress's or dealer cash linked to that "program" was nixxed, it was somewhat ironic as a salesperson being told how important it was to maintain personal relationships with customers, only to see, once e-mail adress's were supplied....Ford backdooring the very same people... 1

Much the same was true for the advent of CSI questionnaires mailed out in the 80's- back when we had to wear a blazer and a tie.

I find it disappointing how they’re handling the Ranger. The Ranger has been tested to be very good at being a truck, so to not make it appealing to fleets doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. If they don’t want to build a supercab, at least add a 6 foot bed option to make the truck more usable. 7 hours ago, Deanh said: Ford sometimes becomes more focussed on perifial product rather than the vehicles themselves....FORDPASS was another they rammed down dealers throats...forget the actual sellable product, make sure you sign everyone up for FORDPASS or youll lose Dealer incentives....years and years ago it was all about getting e-mail adress's or dealer cash linked to that "program" was nixxed, it was somewhat ironic as a salesperson being told how important it was to maintain personal relationships with customers, only to see, once e-mail adress's were supplied....Ford backdooring the very same people... I think their push to get people to sign up for FORDPASS was to collect as much data as possible with the average person not realizing it. I will say it can be a slippery slope trying to go direct with customers. Just ask Nike how trying to cut out the middleman is currently going. And then getting extorted by customers for free oil changes in return for a good survey............... 1
