I think their EVs for a legacy OEM were competitive in price and features, but I agree they have to step it up. Especially packaging, which was terrible on BEV3. To me while its not revolutionary like UEV, they were frankly further ahead of Ford and I expect GM’s steady hand to be successful in the American market. Foreign markets they will need to lean on their Chinese operations harder than ever.

Yea, among the American OEMs, GM has been doing well with its U.S. market EV lineup. But as mentioned in the article, GM's next-generation EV represent incremental improvements, nothing revolutionary like UEV at Ford, high-powered fans/suction systems and cold-gas thrusters at Tesla, and various technological announcements over the past year from them Chinese automakers. If the big shots at GM don't step up their game with EV, they may fall behind come 2030 and beyond.

Ford keeps doing this. I still remember when Ford was doing the cryptic teasers a ways back. They said it was something mustang based, and showed a silhouette under a sheet that clearly didn't look like a normal coupe, but instead gave off sedan proportions. I got really excited, thinking it was gonna be a mustang sedan. Turned out to be some generic appearance package for the s650. I think it was the California special. -

More spy pics from reddit. The front is looking very Maverick with a short hood to me.

Happy to see these details coming out about their next generation EVs. GM has been doing well with EVs and it both affirms UEV’s direction and the future of the American OEMs not named Chrysler. I hope they do it in America, they’ve built their EV supply chain here anyway.

Who knows maybe they are planning on doing an MCE that has updated styling and tech from the UEV (motors etc) that will allow it go to 2032 or something? -
I thought the same thing......we'll see tomorrow I guess. The video ends with something along the lines of "why stop at just one?" Which there are now 3 Raptor models, but could imply another/more are coming? I'd have to imagine it'll be something new (or at least a new Raptor version of a model (Expy? haha), otherwise it was a lot of hype for nothing.....
