Yeah, I know it's just a reality of automotive timelines (especially when they've pivoted directions multiple times) and that we're more knowledgeable than most of what's going on, but it's annoying that all Ford has seemingly done the last 3-4 years is to talk about this that and the other that's "coming, just wait!" It'd be nice if they'd actually release something - even if a concept - to keep interest. In the meantime, we'll get 37 more teases of the Fathom's corner reflector marker to generate excitement!!

Yeah sounds like it could be worse, but I'd agree that a "last screen" feature would be nice.

Ford Reveals Why Naming a New Car Is So Much Harder Than You Think - Autoblog Even a flawless internal pitch can get entirely derailed. The legal team frequently steps in to kill names over trademark disputes or translation issues. Recently, Ford almost used “Mustang Dark Horse Boss” before realizing it sounded ridiculous and deciding to go with “Dark Horse SC.” Getting a word past the legal department is often the hardest part of the job. This article used the example of what would've been the Dark Horse Boss, but instead going with Dark Horse SC, which I hate lol.

There've been a few smaller recalls here and there, but this is the most recent larger one: 2025-2026 Ford F-Series Recalled Over Failing Analog Clusters Ford Motor Company is recalling select Ford F-Series models - 2025-2026 Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, and F-600, as well as 2026 F-150, and F-750 trucks over an issue with failing analog gauge clusters. The defect: in affected vehicles, the analog cluster’s tachometer and speedometer may become stuck or move erratically, providing inaccurate readings to the driver. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) Number 101, "Controls and Displays." The hazards: a speedometer that fails to display accurate vehicle speed can increase the risk of a crash. Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition. Components: instrument cluster modules Affected vehicles: select 2025-2026 Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, and F-600 trucks build between December 14th, 2024, and April 17th, 2026, 2026 F-150 pickups produced between August 22nd, 2025, and May 12th, 2026, and 2026 F-750 models built on November 21st, 2025. Number of vehicles affected: 102,159 The fix: dealers will replace the instrument cluster modules, free of charge.

This is likely a requirement of that new law otherwise preventing Chinese imports. Nautilus skirts around it because of using US-based software.

I mean, to be fair, it's also a lower bar to overcome, as EV sales across the board have collapsed, but still their sales are increasing!

Strange, it seems to have disappeared........wonder if they weren't supposed to put that out yet? Different source, same info.... A new two-row Mazda CX-90 will take the CX-70’s place | Driving

Interesting article. I hadn't thought about naming of all the trims & packages and the labarynthine journey from a thought to a sticker on a vehicle. Still, I wonder if sometimes all the different departments involved with approval don't just "scroll to the bottom and click accept." Focus, Flex, Fathom Mach-e, don't create a desirable, or any, image in my mind. they're not commonly used as object nouns, except by Ford. "I want to buy a Fathom" makes as much sense as "I want to buy a Together.*" And "Bronco Desert Rising?" Sounds like somebody's wifi password. Landmasses don't rise, except catastrophically like a volcano. Were Desert Dawn, -Sunrise, -Twilight, -Sunset all rejected? * I should trademark the word and sell it to Chevrolet for use as a vehicle name; as in "Together.™ Let's drive! They'd probably reject it saying, "Nah, using abstract nouns is a Ford thing."
