Interesting....I wonder how well it does/what kind of impact it makes? Guess you'd have to try it both ways - regular charging to get a baseline figure of your bill with EV charging (naturally, your bill would go up if you were never charging an EV before), and then enabling that feature to see what king of pricing difference it makes. I'd also assume you'd have to remember to turn that feature off if you needed it to charge for a trip or something? I'd also guess that it'd have a setting to maintain a minimum charge level of whatever percent you put it at?

In another edition of "Ford that cried wolf," I just got a notification from the @fordbronco instagram page of "something big coming to SEMA"......and also shows a video of them removing a Bronco Raptor's suspension and engine....

You either tell it the rate structure, or you select your provider and it interfaces with their system to automatically pull the rates. Yep. Charge when rates are lower, power your house when rates are higher. -
How does it know when rates are cheaper? So am I understanding this right - you plug it in all day, and it can decide to either pull power from the Fathom and (partially) power your house, or whether to charge the Fathom?

I got all excited myself, made a post on the dealership Facebook page, and then... nothing? It's funny, back in 2017, maybe 2018, they very briefly had a "Suggestion Box" for dealership employees to send feedback to Ford. It didn't last long. I can't begin to imagine how unhinged some of the sales/service/parts/etc people could have been in there. I've sat in on webinars that were meant for owners/general managers and have seen some of the comments made. Let's just say... yikes. Harsh. Not untrue or uncalled for, but harsh.

I don't think CE-1 products are geared toward performance.

Isn't the rule of thumb generally multiple models on the same platform for a wider net of ROI? While I do get the idea of not getting out ahead of their skis, I'm not sure why they'd think a single vehicle would be enough.....

They could do it that way, probably less risky, but it would basically require them to cancel the Mach-E ASAP. The Mach-E probably can’t coexist very long with an Escape EV. The latter would diminish the performance credibility of the former as people see its pretty easy to make a quick EV, and you’d rather have those 25k Mach-E sales go to the UEV platform/Escape EV. Then you could take Cuautitlan and retool it for C2…

That is a great question that someone should ask Ford.
