https://fordauthority.com/fmc/ford-motor-company-platforms/ford-ce1-platform/ No, Mach E is GE1. Fathom and friends are CE1, AKA UEV. I didn't remember what regular Mach E 0-60 times were, i just remember them saying the Fathom + weren't necessarily geared to all out performance. I would say in general that Mach E will be outclassed by anything on CE1, as they should, since we're comparing to a product that originally debuted as a 2021 model. Mach E should either be allowed to ride off into the sunset, or be given a next-gen model on CE1, and can be a more aggressively styled product vs. a more "regular" looking Escape. With that other Mustang crossover reportedly on the way, it seems Mach E's days are numbered.

Well...... still on the train of Ford's "debuts" lately are lackluster.

That would be my concern with any battery pack. They only have a limited lifespan. However, if you're saving a lot of $$$, it may be worth it anway. -
That will probably work out okay with the LFP battery pack. I would be reluctant to do that with an NMC pack due to cycle life issues.

Exactly. The Mach-E’s selling proposition would be fucked. I would argue it previously did not do any damage to the Mustang brand but sitting around even with a Ford escape for a few years would tarnish it.

Uh the Mach E is a CE1 product You mean UEV? Ford has already stated that the Fathom would have performance similar to a Mustang Ecoboost-a Sub 6 second 0-60 and a sub 14 second 1/4 times aren't nothing to sneeze at. Using that as a metric, the UEV would be roughly equivalent to anything below the Mach E GT performance wise. -

It depends on the area you are in. Where we are, our rates are fixed. In parts of CA, their rates are much lower at night. I'm just spitballing numbers here, but if you use 10kWh per day with this system, and the rate is $0.05/kWh lower at night, that's 50 cents a day, or $15/month. Change that to 50kWh per day and it jumps to $75/month. A quick search showed that the difference between peak and off-peak in CA could be as much as $0.26/kWH. For 50kWh per day, that's nearly $400/month in savings. That's not chump change! Now, there are losses due to heat with charging and discharging the battery, so if it's 95% efficient, your savings would only be $14.25/month instead of $15 for the first scenario. And yeah, I'm sure there are settings for minimum charge and to easily disable it for a trip. -
Interesting....I wonder how well it does/what kind of impact it makes? Guess you'd have to try it both ways - regular charging to get a baseline figure of your bill with EV charging (naturally, your bill would go up if you were never charging an EV before), and then enabling that feature to see what king of pricing difference it makes. I'd also assume you'd have to remember to turn that feature off if you needed it to charge for a trip or something? I'd also guess that it'd have a setting to maintain a minimum charge level of whatever percent you put it at?

In another edition of "Ford that cried wolf," I just got a notification from the @fordbronco instagram page of "something big coming to SEMA"......and also shows a video of them removing a Bronco Raptor's suspension and engine....
