Absolutely, Chinese government used EVs, wind solar and batteries as a way of changing its image to the rest of the world. It also helped China reduce its dependence on imported oil products. Quite comical actually that North America and European multinationals offshored most of the noxious high CO2 manufacturing to China and India as a way of meeting domestic emission requirements. The result being that Europe and North America is under less emissions pressure and less urgency with things like mass EV roll out and green power. While China gets all the value adding of those noxious heavy industries but also wears the scourge of High CO2 emissions. It easy to see why they need a strategy that can help fix their own situation plus sell to the rest of the world.

Yeah, I thought to myself that this product could've been from anyone if you put a different logo on it.

Wonder if the grill/front end is previewing what the next Wrangler is going to look like. The 1980s called and they want their styling back (though I do like it 😛 ) -

Meh. Also not sure why they use the Aviator name. Guess they won't be using our version anymore.

Jeep Wrangler Scrambler SRT Concept Debuts With A V8 The Wrangler Scrambler SRT Concept, unveiled at the 2026 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, is a two-door pickup with a usable truck bed and the first Wrangler-branded independent front suspension ever built. Stellantis showed the concept on November 2, pairing that front suspension with a Trophy Truck-style rear axle and a 6.4-liter Hemi V8. Jeep presents it as a concept that imagines future hardware rather than an announced production truck. Under the hood sits a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 making 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, finished in a bright shade Jeep calls Punk'n orange. The truck bed is functional rather than decorative, a detail that separates this build from past Wrangler-based show trucks that treated the rear deck as styling filler.

Yeah but I’d be shocked if Ford expects to return to anything like their volumes from a decade ago off of those models. Their goal in Europe should probably be first Ford Pro, second ensure the survival of a small portfolio around the Puma (so Puma, Kuga, and a smaller EV in the Fiesta/Focus area), and then I can’t think of a third. It just isn’t super realistic for them to be throwing money chasing market share in the EU, their current operations plus the Renault-based EVs seem to be rational. Aside from that I don’t see what there is to do unless the Europeans would be interested in Bronco Sport-esq B and C segment C2 crossovers, or Ford Racing-related products.
