So how would losses be reported if the plants aren't being operated? I understand they are still spending money, but if major construction is more or less done with BOC and battery plants and the only thing left large expense wise is retooling LAP for the Model E, I guess they won't have to report as big of a loss?
Many of the recalls are addressed by inspection with nothing required, others can be as simple as a software upgrade.
Over the decades, recalls have evolved into anything that might result in a serious consequences but really a lot of it
is not what people think, it’s mostly having to pay dealerships for those actions.
I’m convinced that Ford doesn’t understand a lot of the passenger segments it’s in
Those losses are mostly ongoing plant and infrastructure investments, not losses from vehicles.
The reason that Ford split the company into Model E, Ford Blue and Ford Pro was that by now,
it was expecting mass roll out of T3 BEV F150……all based on reservations that evaporated.
Not to be negative, but an interesting stat might be claims made versus claims resulting in corrective action or claims resolved.
Thx TT...I know I'm a broken record but even if they just did air brakes on the gas jobs. I'm convinced they don't understand what that medium duty market is all about.
Utility is important, but I struggle to understand how 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks weigh 50%more and have 300% more power for the same payload, and a smaller bed.
The analogy I keep thinking of is jeep owners who buy Wrangler just for the rubber ducks. I think the entire truck market is that people buy things for rubber ducks.
Torsens make aggressive drifting harder than, say, a clutch rear diff (like the Focus RS) or a welded rear axel (like that crazy guy you know with his project car).
You just need to be a bit more aggressive with brake/clutch. Its still much easier than with an open diff.
For the price point they are hitting, the only option would be going with some kind of clutch diff or manual locker, but those are very expensive and not an easy off the shelf add on to a road legal mustang. They wouldn't be able to hit their price target if they tried to add in some kind of lockable rear gearset.
