But did Ford actually say that or was that just what we discussed?     You don't need to transition buyers to other products.  Some will naturally but especially with Escape and the high fleet sales they're better off financially just killing it.  But we all know the replacement for Escape and Corsair are UEP products, just like Bronco Sport and Maverick replaced Fusuin.

Heavy truck sales are a bright spot, up almost 10% and nearly 1000 units/month!  All kidding aside, I was expecting lower as it would seem U-Haul is switching to Peterbilt for their class 6 trucks.    

The strategy is to import Corsair from China but that takes time.  And there is a stop sale on Nautilus    

Wet timing belts are the worst of both worlds.  I wouldn't own a vehicle with them, though there are been some instances where non-toothed wet oil pump belts have proved successful.   

Apparently Ford's internal information/market studies are showing that isn't the case.

Why would they chase fleet sales if they don't have to?   The CE1 Truck will be a new segment for them that will pick up market share in other places when it comes. Why keep building the Escape when you have what is hopefully a revolutionary product that will spawn a replacement for the Escape in 2028 or so?    The Escape was good product, but it also didn't really help Ford's bottom line either the past 13 years or so it appears.

Maybe more like the Mach E Rally wheels?   The interesting thing is that the wheels on the CE1 are more "open" then what is normally found on EVs (improved aerodynamics), so I wouldn't expect them to show up to production, but standby to be wrong about that.

It's more of a 1.0EB issue than wet belts in general.  2.7EB has one for the oil pump.  No issues there.

Didn't realize that....that makes more sense why it was down so much!     If the above is true about a stop sale, dealers can't sell what they can't sell.   I'm more skeptical on the importing Corsair plan with that rumor about it being built here is true.....but that will take years, and they need something in the meantime.     I feel like that was a copy-paste blurb from the June sales lol.     I think the short-term strategy is to put Corsair customers into Nautilus, but if there was a stop sale on it, not much dealers can do about that....
