  1. Past hour
  2. Absolutely true. Honestly, if most people were given the choice, they’d probably pick a next generation Edge over a Mach E simply because the change to BEV is just too much for most buyers. When it comes to three row BEV clinic results, I think the decision was even more clear cut, Ford knew that and with the current battery tech, it was on a hiding to nothing if released, the Tesla X probably covers most of those would be buyers anyway
  3. Today
  4. Great to read. Voting with your wallet is the way to go.
  5. I’m ok as I’m a veteran worker, it’s the people with the low seniority who are greater affected by this delay. I’m still extremely frustrated with Ford and some of Farleys decisions. I’m almost expecting the plan to change again because that seems to be the norm now. One EV product will not be enough volume for that plant. The Lincoln u760 is up in the air so I know there is only one product right now. From talk of 5 to 1 for now. The union kept saying there is a Ford and a Lincoln then a third product coming like 2028 or later. Ill believe this stuff when and if I actually see it.
  6. I don't see a V8 landing with the modern Lincoln crowd. But swap the V8 for some sort of smooth hybrid system and I think you'd be onto something.
  7. RWD sedan with a V8...why not spread the resources and make a proper Continental from it too....
  8. Yesterday
  9. So Chinese consumers at a Chi else auto show in China paid more attention to Chinese brands than imports. Shocking. 😂
  10. I don't think they are ahead of what western or eastern world builds, just that they are being subsided by the Chinese government, which gives them a competitive edge when it comes to spending money on products. You can afford to take risks on products or sell say a 25K EV when the government is covering 10-15K of the price. EV batteries where developed by the US university/development system and built in China because it was cheaper to do so. Its like you designing a tool that no on else has, and then having another party build it for you, they'll learn the ins and out ofs of it and then make themselves. I just took a look at the article and comment section....very interesting, but not very surprising. All I say is this-people need to learn that there are lots of "bad actors" out there and I saw that in the comment section of that article. Your in the middle of a propaganda campaign, like it or not. Just take the time and read in between the lines on everything.
  11. I was under the impression that the crash cell (aka Passenger compartment) was the long pole in the tent when it came to crash test performance, not sure how much of a C2 would be able to be used due to the transmission tunnel that a RWD product needs. Dusting off maybe the CD6 from the Explorer might be a better bet, plus doesn't the S650 use much of the same harnesses and electronics as the Explorer?
  12. I feel for you guys now, hitting the delay button was just the easy decision for Ford as I doubt that Farley really knows what to do now as that could change again by next year. Oakville is such a big plant, it seems like a crime not to build multiple products, particularly when Canada is an export hub for ROW markets.
  13. I mean hey, if that's a wink and a nudge that a mustang sedan could take the form of a RWD fusion with a V8, I'll take it. Hopefully they'll tweak the exterior styling, give it a longer hood with sleeker from end styling. The latest sedan already looks a bit like a mustang so maybe this was the plan all along.
  14. In a way S650 already did that with changes to the floor pan to permit hybrid battery mounting. The addition of a four door is a tricky one because it begs the question 4-door sedan or 4-door coupe? At some point, concessions for a four door would turn the Mustang into a “Falcon”, not a bad thing… Another consideration is that a longer wheelbase gets a better break under CAFE. Random question, would it be easier to change the latest C2 Mondeo to RWD configuration by using Mustang front crash protection cell and RWD powertrains 2.3 EB and Coyote V8……just a thought…
  15. I thought the current platform can’t accommodate a 4-door. Unless they’re dusting off the CD6 plans.
  16. My transponder (EZ-Pass) it would NEVER read in the windshield no matter where it was mounted. Same for the car wash transponder sticker. This is where I mounted the (HOV switchable EZ-Pass) transponder . It reads everytime now and the mounting location does not interefere with the sunroof panel or shade operation. I DO have the HUD windshield in my Lincoln Navigator Reserve.
  17. D-Stang. Like what? Did someone at Ford suddenly wake up to what the "commercial market" is???😎
  18. I mean....he said we could do a 4-door, not that we ARE doing a 4-door. So let's not put the cart before the horse.
  19. Consider co-hosting events or webinars to engage directly with potential customers and address any questions they might have.
  20. I have a 2018 Escape. I'm sure you will be thrilled with this car.
  21. Of course we all know how often Ford likes to change plans in recent years. I haven’t heard shit about that mystery program in some time, BTW.
  22. I believe Fuzzy indicated whatever that was, it wasn't a mustang sedan. Someone said mustang sedan, and he was like nah.
  23. Now this is the kind of Ford news that gets me excited. As a car enthusiast, I hear things about upcoming heavy duty commercial trucks plans and it's like whatever, but whenever Ford talks about the future of the mustang and instantly I'm invested. A mustang sedan is a no brainer. It'll probably never happen, but I'd love to see a mid engine mustang called the mustang Cobra with a starting price of 80 grand or so and 500 hp, with faster, more expensive trims as well. Ford says an EV mustang coupe won't happen, I respectfully disagree, they just got to make it happen in the right way. Leveraging Ford's affordable EV platform, I could see a compact sporty hatchback that takes styling cues from the foxbody. A vehicle that would appeal to people on multiple fronts, bringing back a Ford hatchback, offering an EV mustang, and offering a mustang that's smaller, cheaper, less powerful, but more nimble than the current car.
  24. If Ford's smart, they'll develop a new platform for s750 that follows the same path as the upcoming charger, just with a V8 instead of an I6. A competitive platform that can accommodate hybrids, EVs, and ICE for years to come, hedging bets against any direction the industry swings in while appealing to enthusiasts.
  25. Does not BYD out sell Telsa now? They must be selling them somewhere besides China. Putting questions about the author, China demographic trends, and US - China politics aside, I was looking more for an assement of where they are at technoloically? I know they may not be up to snuff as far as US saftey standards go, but what about battery, drivetrain, infotainment, body and assembly tech? Are they ahead of the US, Europe, Japan and Korea? Are they ahead of everyone else in EV tech? That is my question. Stictly a technical question. I work in the tech industry btw.
  26. If it’s a sedan of any kind then it has to be Flat Rock. IF there is a sedan coming, it would be made possible by 3 things: Free capacity at Flat Rock A heavily amortized Mustang platform making development cheap A market void left by Charger, but don’t expect cheap pricing like Charger. This will be a semi premium product.
