I was thinking the same thing. But also, Motor Trend has had a new exec editor in the last year or so. Edward Loh was the editor when Ford was the "automotive apocalypse", and the mood lightened when he moved on. Mr. Loh also seemed not to care too much for Honda either.

Oh yes, again everything Nissan is on the bottom. This requires a big effort on their part to earn the trust of the buying public back again.

It's amazing that almost every car's value is perceived to be less than average or poor. The three highest scoring brands squeaked out "average". This is that even with the quantum leap in cars in terms of safety, performance, and refinement, most people feel the product isn't really worth the money.

The interior looks like it is made from far too many pieces. I think that will squeak and rattle like it has 200,000 miles before you make the last payment if it is in a location like New England with big temperature swings in the weather. Hope the steering wheel is an option you don't have to take, but probably not. On one hand, it kind of forces you to keep two hands on the wheel, then they put all the controls on a touchscreen, to keep one hand off. Now you can't grab the top of the wheel while using the touch screen, which one would instinctively do.

I wasn't wild about Futura, but I liked it better than Fusion which at the time was some small CUV thing in Europe. After losing the Futura battle, I would have gone with Falcon, Galaxie, Fairlane, or even Fairmont.

I also like the Genesis, but I think the Buick front is better. Genesis has the better interior, although the Buick is also nice too.

The thing I find most troubling is that Toyota gets caught doing the same thing over and over again (Hiding and the lies about defects.) and it gets a pass from car buyers every time.

And I also remember people being angry with the 928 and 944 because they weren't rear engine and they felt that that wouldn't be a real Porsche. But people adjust.

I do wish they made the Flex a minivan with sliding doors like they first planned. That would have at least shown you can be adventurous with styling and options in this segment (ecoboost and AWD). Maybe there would be a resurgence if someone did this instead of making mini vans look like a painful suppository.

Their Cuv/SUV market weathered the covid storm this year, but I'm shocked their car lineup is such a dumpster fire!

If I wanted a 2 row Suv with no third row, I'd get a Bronco or Bronco Sport. An Explorer with no third row is a deal killer for me. I'd just pay more to get the third row if I was considering the Explorer.

I am surprised by how much I like that.
