  1. Or the cost/benefit favors the EV in the future. We've seen Ford be willing to let go of market segments (sedans and minivans), to favor more profitable ones. They are willing to take less overall sales if they make more profit on the ones that are left.
  2. I was thinking out loud rather than asking. I wouldn't want you to hurt your job. I apologize if I put you on the spot. I am just hoping that Ford made a decision on the plant that would be a benefit to the employees by committing the Mustang and maybe other products now that their stock is going up.
  3. I was more or less thinking of a modern day version of this:
  4. Some sort of decision on the Flat Rock plant?...
  5. I think the trunk looks a little longer. I wonder if they are going to go to a little more notchback look rather than fastback.
  6. Elon Musk did say Tesla had an alternate, more truck like design if Cybertruck fell flat. I think we may be seeing that one soon now that Ford and GM showed their cards in this game.
  7. I believe I read somewhere on this forum that they stopped building the Mustang for a while to use the chips for higher priority products.
  8. Even Toyota said this is a special circumstance, that they believe won't be permanent.
  9. Also, the first fossils were incomplete and the velociraptor was believed to be a bird, or at least be a reptile capable of flight originally.
  10. Here is a You tube video on this subject. Disclosure: I did sell Ford cars for a short time in the 90's, so I do see the pros and cons of dealerships, but here is an argument brought on by the markups of Mach E, Bronco and now the Lightning: The dealership in question is Rodman Ford in Massachusetts.
  11. I can't stop thinking of those old polygon graphic video games from the 80's when I see this truck.
  12. Paying a subscription to use a device in the car work is total nonsense. Toyota just added another reason to not buy their cars. I never bought satellite radio for that reason too.
  13. The Fords are probably there due to their support of Rivian, kind of making them an "in law" of the Amazon/Rivian marriage.
  14. I can actually see why they did that with the tail lights. Mini's styling is kind of painted in a corner by having to look like a Mini. If they change too much, it would harm the brand as so much of it's identity is based on how it is shaped. The lights are a styling element that doesn't rock the boat too much, but can easily identify this as a new model.
  15. https://www.yahoo.com/autos/chrysler-airflow-ev-concept-previews-173400488.html This seems to make more sense than the Dodge idea.
  16. I think of the character Syndrome from the Incredibles film when he wanted to give everybody super powers... "Because when everyone is super, no one is" This is why I think Dodge will fail. Dodge makes its way by being a super fast car, but every BEV can easily do this, and a BEV Dodge will never stand out by just being as fast as every other car.
  17. I believe it is due to Dodge focusing for the past 10 years on just the three products that feature the Hemi. The focus was so much on gas engined "hemi" performance that their vision became a one horse show. I think it will be difficult for Dodge fans to accept anything else other than that. If they were to go electric for super performance, Tesla is already there and they are more established for that. Stellantis just has too many brands including multiple brands with one to three products and a narrow focus for each. A brand with a full lineup like Jeep can transition easier to that as it won't be all at once.
  18. But then again, driving a Tesla is exactly what changed my opinion on EVs.
  19. They probably just did the funky doors so the audience can get a better look inside. Lincoln did the same thing with a navigator concept, except the whole side of the car was a gull wing door. I think this is just to show some styling ideas that will be incorporated into an EV Kia Soul.
  20. Badge engineering at its worst. Me too styling with really bad looking grilles (or "not grilles" due to being EVs) as well.
  21. I like it, despite the roofline giving away its Honda Civic origin. The thing I wonder about this is that is this a car that belongs in a luxury brand? Or would this be better as a Honda?
  22. Agreed, they will keep the customers transitioning away from the Mazda 6 to CUVs. With the 6 gone, this and CX-5 will be the go to products.
  23. I think if that were sold here, the grille would be all chrome. I think chrome is a more American taste and not an item of importance to other regions of the world. I really like that car and wish things were different and it was built here.
