  1. IMO this looks much more like a Defender 110 than a Wrangler.
  2. And in a Bronco thread of all places. The nerve of some people. ?
  3. I'm loving it. IMO, they've nicely balanced the Wrangler fighter with Shopping mall grade SUV.
  4. It's like they hired an Audi designer. Oh wait...
  5. 1 to shop in March. 2 more in April Maybe 2 in May...
  6. GM launched the MDs with a grill design to match the outgoing model. The light duty pickups don't look like that anymore. Huge blunder.
  7. “I’ve never heard anything but praise for Alan Mulally. He’s really highly regarded by me, by the board, by Bill,” Hackett said. “We spend zero time and stress about that.” that is corporate speak for the reality that he is being trashed internally.
  8. Regarding Fields, he made a gamble that the economy was going to turn. Many agreed, including the Ford Board. If he ended up being correct, he would have been hailed as a saviour. He miscalculated and got fired. Mulally was hailed as a saviour, now he's being panned for not factoring in lower gas prices. Some people will never be happy.
  9. All this tells me is that it's time for Bill Ford to go away. Navel gazing that Mulally had it wrong. Ignoring Fields who authored the Way Forward plan that saved the company financially. Freaking revisionist history by spotlight seekers. Pass blame and take credit.
  10. Building more factories does NOT equal having manufacturing and supply chain expertise on par with the competition. My original statement still stands. They have a great design, but they still haven't figured out how to produce it consistently in quantity with a level of quality befitting the price tag.
  11. Software may be 6 years ahead, unfortunately, manufacturing and supply chain are at least 12 years behind.
  12. Here's the reality. Once BEVs hit 50% market share, if not sooner, watch electricity rates skyrocket. Fuelling an EV will cost the same or more as an IC engine. N3xt step is lower gas cost from lower demand. THEN you will see some stalling on take rates. So 10 years? Not buying it. Likewise, bans will be reversed as an election issue.
  13. So that old joke of "save gas, fart in a jar" isnt a joke anymore.
  14. So it's really just another Thunderbird, Beetle, Fiat 500 kind of vehicle. Huge upfront demand for a statement vehicle, with significantly lower maintaining volume.
  15. I'd argue they've had terrible leadership for over 100 years. They have survived in spite of mismanagement purely on the product.
  16. But is he wrong? He was right about Sergio, Ghosn, Lutz, Piech, Schrempp, Ammann, et al.
  17. To me, Cadillac just feels like top-of-the-line GM. Yes its premium. Yes its loaded. Yes they are great vehicles. But they just scream GM premium. Not premium all on it's own. IMO, Ford has accepted this is how buyers view Lincoln and have embraced it. GM is still chasing something it lost decades ago and will never get back
  18. That C1500 I used to own is still on the road as I see it every once in a while. Probably has 6-700k on the odometer now.
