  1. Isn’t the next refresh the next gen Lightning BEV platform?
  2. Bronco is SYNC 4 right? Does it have phone as key? Does not have securicode or bluecruise, right? Having second thoughts on my Lightning reservation. May just keep Mach-E, but Bronco Raptor could be tempting (or regular Bronco for that matter).
  3. Right!? The front isn’t bad, the rear is Aztek ugly.
  4. Unclear. It’s a bulletin to dealers. No notice to buyers. Wouldn’t think to check that at purchase. Would stink to buy, everything saying you should have it, and Ford saying “too bad”.
  5. Mach-E will no longer offer hands-free tailgate starting with those built after 1/3/22. The assumption is this is due to chip shortage. The sensor on my Mach-E is awful anyway, to the point I’ve stopped trying to use it. The one on my Edge is flawless.
  6. Congrats! My Mach-E (Premium AWD) is the best car I’ve ever owned.
  7. I still think it’s odd that it’s hinged on the wrong side for a LHD vehicle.
  8. Don’t have any info to add other than to say that’s one sharp truck! Congrats!
  9. Yes it’s plugged in. Preconditioning gets you the best range, but currently that’s only possible through scheduled departure times. For instance, I knew I was leaving at 7 this morning so I had it set to be ready. Preconditioning is different than remote start. The only way to do it is by schedule, which is not very convenient.
  10. I loved the tailgate on my old caprice wagon. It could swing down, or out. 1) If GM (and Ford?) could do it forty years ago without a gate in a gate why not Ford now? 2) The hinge is on the wrong side for a LHD vehicle. It’s a common complaint with RHD originated imports like the GX460. It should be on the opposite side so you can load/unload at the curb without having to go around the open gate.
  11. I keep my hands on the wheel. The benefit of BC as I see it is the vehicle sucks at sensing when your hands are on the wheel. With ACC I am constantly nagged about keeping my hands on the wheel when they are. I have to make a point of tugging the wheel from time to time so it knows. BC eliminates the nag.
  12. Wasn’t there an article recently that stated exactly that? It’s an issue with range in rural applications.
  13. It’s up to a balmy 37 here today, but was zero yesterday. At some point I don’t think it matters how much colder it gets.
  14. I haven’t been driving as much due to WFH but the Guess-o-Meter being off by almost 50%. It’s rated at 270. Over summer I was over 300 miles on a full charge. Today it’s reporting 163.
  15. Lightning goes up quick. I was going to get an XLT but it jumps to $70k with the LR battery and lacks a lot of the features I’ve become accustomed to in my Mach-E. Based on winter performance of my Mach there’s no way I’d get the smaller battery on one of these.
  16. Disappointed XLT lacks Bluecruise and PAAK, and jumps into the 70s for the ER model. I wouldn’t mind the price so much if it didn’t mean giving up features from my Mach-E.
  17. On the contrary the keypad enables phone as key. If your phone dies/breaks/Paak just doesn’t work you can still get home. I haven’t used my key fob since the first week I had my car, but have had to use the code when PAAK wasn’t working (including once when fords servers were down). I also use the Kay pads on all three of my fords frequently when I don’t have my phone on me, for instance when grabbing something out of one of the cars on the driveway.
  18. Kind of surprised they don’t come out swinging with BEV Tahoe/Suburban first.
  19. None, except for pretty much everyone else. https://www.hotcars.com/car-companies-no-longer-investing-in-ice/amp/
  20. Where does CAMI get batteries from for the Brightdrop vans? Surprised CAMI doesn’t have a retail BEV.
  21. I reserved my Mach-E in November 2019. Ordered it in June 2020, received it June 2021. They did not discuss monthly payment, nor run my credit, until the day I picked it up. Unless your MB GLE 450 is used, I don’t believe you bought from a Ford dealer.
