  1. Personally, I'd like to see a USB-C or mini port at the central mirror. Hell, even a port where you convert hot/ground/ignition to your own ended cable. That way you can buy what camera you want. Or upgrade it in 5 years. On SUV's at a minimum, and maybe trucks, same thing out back for a rear camera at back window.
  2. No, the full sized Transits have a ladder frame to them. You can see that in the Transit Chassis cab configuration you can buy. This is what the RV up-fitters are buying. https://www.autoblog.com/2013/03/08/2014-ford-transit-unveiled-in-chassis-cab-and-cutaway-versions/
  3. The color, and especially the stripe looks too early 70's to me. Shinola I read too fast. All I read was Sinaloa, aka Mexican drug cartel. Not something you want to be associated with...
  4. GM needs to focus on fixing their Bolt's so they don't catch on fire...
  5. Not yet. I keep eyeing the VIOFO A119. Seems that brand over the years has consistently been on the charts. I just seem to always another project that takes priority. The only thing I've concluded is it's better to have one camera unit up front, and one out back. Seems those dual camera units are sometimes hard to get a cable to the back, if you want rear camera at all.
  6. Check out Dash Cam Talk forum. They have some good reviews. https://dashcamtalk.com/
  7. I think the CyberTruck will sell well initially. The Tesla loyalists will cream their jeans over it. But after that initial sell of a year or two with probably production constraints, I think it'll struggle. One of the things that concern me is its size. From what the pre-production version I saw, wasn't that truck quite wide? I'm talking military Hummer width here. Its not going to fit in a lot of garages for regular homes. So you won't be able to treat it like a regular truck like the Electric F150 will. So it'll fill a niche market, but won't fill the mass market.
  8. Considering this is Ford's real first effort for an EV, this is what, Tesla's fourth, they did well. (I'm not including Roadster. We can call that the prototype) I will give Tesla credit for coming from nothing to what they are in a short term. But watching Munro's videos, you can tell Tesla has more to learn yet than Ford does.
  9. Only the Escape PHEV is FWD only. Standard hybrid is available in AWD.
  10. I'm not making any apologies for Tesla. But if the Chinese playbook is still in effect, they'll copy everything good about a Tesla, and start building electric cars themselves. Patents be damned.
  11. Just watched a video over lunch. Sandy Munro from his Munro Live YouTube channel had a favorable approval. He hasn't seen it in the flesh. But he took a look at the press kit. He said he will be buying one of these for a total tear-down.
  12. If I was a betting man, this is what I'm betting happened. The EU probably realized that giving auto companies a PHEV option, isn't going to motivate the makers to develop BEV vehicles. PHEV means auto makers could still continue to make ICE engines. So the EU just changed the regulations so that PHEV isn't an option any longer.
  13. Call me weird. I always wanted a regular cab 6 ft bed, with either a 3.5EB or a 5.0. But with MANUAL transmission. Back when the Ford garage my dad worked at had some short box regular cab, 4.9 inline 6 manual trans trucks for sale cheap. I still wish I would have bought one of those. I think they were probably 1997 year. I think I could have picked one up for $12k.
  14. I don't recall seeing this. But the Build and Price on the Corsair GT is up. https://shop.lincoln.com/configure/corsair/?gnav=shopnav-bp#/select/
  15. I'm sure insurance companies will make it so expensive to insure a human driven car, or motorcycle for that matter, that we can't afford it any longer.
  16. That's just a part of the racket IIHS is allowed to run. They can put in new requirements, and won't be able to say if it does any good until they have 5 years of data. Of course they'll say, "If one life is spared"... At some point, IIHS has to look at a cost analysis point of view. Eventually all that'll happen is if your car isn't self driving, then it'll be an IIHS failure grade. And even then, it'll still be the OEM's fault the crash wasn't survived.
  17. Episode #5 is up. Mr. Munro likes it.
  18. Next Video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=et8_iyWnoYQ
  19. Not going to happen anywhere that quick in rural areas of the US.
  20. On this picture, the button to the right of the finger should be the button to disable the parking sensors. You can't turn just the rear off. It'll turn all of them off. https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-to-use-the-ford-active-park-assist-feature-by-ian-swan
