  1. I'm pretty sure it's also heavier. Which weight savings over the nose seems to really have made a difference.
  2. If I were to tune an Explorer I would take it to Livernois. They've been in the game for a long time and seem to do well with tuning Ecoboost engines.
  3. Filed under bench racing, but having a hard time on why the Escape 2.0 would be slower than the outgoing one with a weight/gear/hp/tq advantage. I really get the feeling that the SE Hybrid is going to be the sweet spot (just a hunch).
  4. You need to take it for what it's worth. Most of those "journalists" want a Porsche Macan. I think it will sell well to women. That's just my opinion and I am not in marketing/demographics research.
  5. I still don't understand why they want to redesign the front after the first year!
  6. The engine and manual trans was good in that car. However, that platform was awful for things going wrong. The Contour and Mistake, which is what the Cougar was based, was an engineering nightmare. You don't see too many of those on the road anymore. Nostalgia is one thing, being a masochist is another.
  7. Well, I had a feeling this would probably happen because of all you listed above. I am just glad that they are getting ahead of the problem and just not sending them to dealers for sale. I wish though there was a better process to really nail down these problems before true production starts. I will probably get a Aviator in a few years, after these issues have been sorted.
  8. From every first drive, each said the GT felt significantly quicker from a start. Here we have a test saying its inherit advantage isn't? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
  9. You would be the first person here to call me a troll. Answer this, if you drove the Aviator would it determine if it would be a potential problem for you and your wife? Yes or no? If yes, drive the Aviator. It's that simple. I don't need you to validate who you are or what you've done. Don't care and it doesn't matter. Good Luck on your search!
  10. Sorry you lost me at government contracting. Color me not impressed. Nobody cares what you do or how much money you make. Getting all bent out shape when someone asks you a logical question, is on you. I am not a a moderator, but I will say all are welcome here. However, someone relatively new, such as yourself, needs to think about why they are here. If you are here asking questions, then you may want to be polite and listen. Just my opinion, take it or leave it.
  11. I'm no troll but am sincerely asking, why you aren't driving it first? It seems that would answer your questions about whether or not it would be an issue. Nobody is faulting you for doing research. I guess I value my time more than you do. You do you though.
  12. Why are you hyper fixating on something you haven't driven yet? I mean driving it answers your questions. Trying to come up with away to avoid something that may or may not bother you seems like a waste of time. To each their own I guess.
  13. They were comparing the Stinger to a 3 series too. Too bad the long term one that had a C&D had a bunch of shakes and rattles after about 10,000 miles. No thanks.
  14. For the folks that make real cheddar, 50k price difference won't matter. Model S performance 100k. 150K Porshe that's the new thing. 50k makes no difference. Think about how long the Model S has been around. Shiny new toy wins every time with those with deep pockets.
  15. I can imagine. I remember accessing the VAX system and programming in Cobol on green screen dummy terminals. Nothing like trying to program in a busy computer lab in college.
  16. Uh you guys have me by a few years! My first real exposure to UNIX (not linux) was some dinosaur Solaris boxes. Virtually no training on an overnight support desk. I had to verify there were no issues with the scheduled jobs and to do any sort of jump starting if any issues. I eventually became decent at it. They eventually got decommed and were not once rebooted. I think it was over 12 years running continuously.
  17. This seems really ridiculous to me. It’s like they are planning to fail by using focus groups. Isn’t this how we got the Aztec? IMO, don’t make changes till 3rd model year if reception is terrible. Let it sink on its own. I’m all about having contingency plans but this seems premature.
  18. I’m almost certain weight and cost is what killed the Bose suspension.
  19. Uh....I am going to just hazard a guess here and say they were hoping for more efficiency? Maybe the Green Car Report isn't the best site to look at reviews if you want a performance luxury PHEV.
  20. Here is the thing, I think Lincoln needs to have separate dealerships if they want to succeed in the long term. However, if i were a dealer i would be a little gun shy. Lincoln is trying to push out great products but we don't know if the Aviator and Corsair will be sales (volume) success for dealerships to survive on just yet.
  21. That was a very good review in my opinion. Fair and pretty accurate. I still think the sweet spot will be a fairly loaded reserve. BL gets to a price where a lot of people want a specific badge on the hood.
  22. A high school girlfriend of mine had a Calypso Green Mustang II V8. Her dad rebuilt and repainted it. Slow as a dog but every time I see one I get a smile on my face!
  23. You can pretty much guarantee it will be under 5.0. The question is with the added weight, how low? We'll see what the instrument tests say.
