I turned in the Lincoln LS for an MKX. I LOVE the car but regret the crummy looking chrome clad 18" rims and halogen lamps (adaptive, but still halogen).

It's fully loaded, including trailer tow package. I went with the Graystone interior, in fact I insisted they get me one of these apparently rare colors.

It's very quiet and surprisingly powerful. The transmission is silky and the engine is no louder than the absurdly silent V8 in the LS. The car has great highway manners with good passing power. Braking is good, but could be better. Steering is perfect, actually better than the MKZ but the car leans and rolls quite a bit if you take corners harder than 15mph. Wind noise levels are fine with the exception of some noise from antennae just in front of the vista roof (this seems unfortunate and avoidable since the MKZ has no such radio antennae). The interior is just spectacular, I like it so much better than the MKZ which feels considerably cheaper and poorly designed in comparison. From the halogen lighting to the tasteful neatness of the design, I couldn't be happier on the inside. And lets not forget the amazing THX sound system which is MUCH better than the version in the MKZ (the Aviator sound was about as spectacular).

I definitely don't get the looks anymore, the car sort of blends in with the Rendezvous and Pacificas of the world, but my view from the inside is so much better.

Overall the car is a lot of fun to drive and play with and a good trade for the LS since both cars have features the other doesn't so you can't compare apples to oranges. I lose something but I get something else in return....V8 power or AWD....Sex appeal or Navigation...and so on;)

there are some pictures on my computer that i would not be comfortable with sharing.....and no they are not porn, but they do involve my girlfriend

As far as I can see, they are things that have previously been attached on this forum.

Phantom photos are probably not reading from a user's hard drive. Highly unlikely unless database / forums have advanced far beyond where I think they are.

My guess is that there is some bug with the forum that is reading incorrect parts of the database and it's picking up some images (BLOBs, I'm assuming) and dumping them as output to certain posters. I don't think you need to worry too much. Unless you physically upload the file with the attachment form, it's highly unlikely the forum will snatch it into the database.

She can certainly dance in a bear costume if that is her ..

Sorry to hijack the thread. I can affirm images are not from our hard drives. I had something put on a post of mine that I had never seen before. I believe it's other people's attachments from years gone by being added.

Congrats on you new car.

I like that interior color combo. I can't decide which I like better, that or the all/two tone tan w/ the lighter maple wood.

I would think maybe you would find a 100% restored 1996 Taurus? Just jokin!!! Enjoy!

Hey, I wish I still had good old Froggy! ;)

I know it's still out there somewhere in Livonia (Thank You CARFAX!)

I'm surprised I'm driving an SUV, but this is the first Ford SUV that isn't drab box on wheels ;).

 BORG... There really is no hope for you is there! :finger:

I mean really, an MKX? :stirpot:

Glad to see your still around. Otherwise nice ride...

We will still assimilate you... :hysterical:

You mean I didn't tell you that while I was gone, I bought a Town Car? Ah well, I already took down those pictures! ;)

The MKX's distinctiveness has been added to our own. We decided to avoid SYNC for fear of bad programming invading the collective. I have SUCH a hard time driving a car with a Microsoft badge on the inside, ugh!

People have such hardon for MS at times, when most of the time its flaky drivers from 3rd parties screwing your computer up...

Oh dear, it goes far deeper than that ;)

SYNC and Windows are very different elements of Microsoft, however I despise Microsoft as a corporation because of Windows. Fortunately they are sitting still while their market share shrinks :).

Congrats big time on the new ride!

I still have an 03 LS in vivid red and absolutely love the car. The wife wants an Edge bad but we want to finish paying off the LS and keep it too.

I have never had a car that I love to drive more than our LS and we even have a GT500 (07), but nothing compares.

still, big time congratulations on your new car, I'd own one in a second...
