Toyota A-BAT Hybrid Pickup Concept

Oh boy, it has a midgate...you mean like GM came out with...5 years ago??

Nice rip-off of the Dodge crosshair grille...clearly Toyota is out of ideas.

Somebody hit it with a-BAT before it spreads!

I don't know maybe hitting it with a bat would make it look better?

And what kind of name is 'A-BAT'?

...in looking like ASS!

Is it me, or does it have a ding in the bumper (front, near corner). Was it hit with "a bat"?

Just seems to add to that "toughness" image.

I don't like it, but give Toyota credit for attempting to modernize the small pickup.

for some reason the article I read had a picture of this:

doesn't even look like the same.

I blame Honda for destroying the word 'pickup'. I think there should be a minimum of sq footage in the bed to be called a pickup.

if you bought one of these and took it to a construction site you would be luaghed off the lot.....and hopefully fired.

What is that? Revenge for Hiroshima????

Why do we even allow companies like Toyota to sell their unsafe crap here and wreck our economy? How many American cars are allowed to be sold in their sick society anyways?? Maybe we could designate Ford's an endangered species, then the Japanese would buy em by the boatload at any price, imagine the profits!

I see what you're talking about on the bumper, I'm not sure what it is.

I see they have the rear bumper being an under-bed 'drawer', they stole my idea!!! I'm really mad now!

Actually Chevy did something similar with the 1955 Cameo Pick-up. The center of the rear bumper folded down to access the spare.

But it wasn't a drawer was it? The Toyota concept has a drawer, which is the idea I came up w/ a while ago.....I thought I was onto something....it's a much better storage solution than Ridgeline's in bed truck -- when the bed's loaded (why would you be using a Ridgeline for truck duty anyways?) you cant open the trunk.
