The Fiesta and what you expect out of it

It's a deal.

 

I don't want to bet you direction. As basically it could be hamstringing Ford via canabalism. Plus it's a n unknown here in America, so good luck getting 15-18k/mn sales. On top of the Focus is doing better than ever.

course my angst towards the Focus ( current styling ) is well documented and may make me bias....as for how well it is doing "ugly people get dates too......"

we shall see....starbux bet? within 6 months Fiesta will outsell current bodied Focii...that is unless they rebate the hell out of the Focus of course...due to lack luster sales....LOL!

 

 

Well from the way its shaping up the C2 Focus and the Fiesta will be out on the market with in 12 months of one another, making me doubt that this bet even has legs to stand on.

Fiesta will set the tone...I also cannot wait for the focus....the sooner the better on both....but the bet is the Fiesta when introduced will outsell the CURRENT Focus....and beleive me its win win for Ford anyway...I just have EXCEPTIONALLY high hopes for the Fiesta due to segment busting styling that makes the CURRENT Focus sheepishly hide in the shadows like Elephantman....

From a nut and bolts POV. They are adding 3 crew to Wayne to boost focus production there to ~350-380,000 per year. the Cucutaan plant will not be able to Match that volume at launch.

 

I am hearing Mexico will be retooled to make 500,000 per year. So that's the fiesta, B-max, Eco sport, and possible KA and Fiat 500 for the Americas, I wouldn't rule out the reflex/Puma as well. That won't be 500,000 at launch but gradually ramped up as products are added.

The Fit sold around 11,000 units in July.

 

 

But the Fit is an established car, from a company that is know for making good small cars.

 

I think /hope that the Fiesta will do well. But it is entering really an unknown region for Ford. It will take a while to break into the this segment.

We're all guessing, so here's mine. They will sell every one they can make and total sales will be limited only by production capacity. In other words, the same thing that's happening with the Fusion/Milan/MKZ. Every indication is that the Fiesta will have superb driving characteristics as well as high quality for the class. Add to that the good looks we've already seen and Ford will have a genuine hit. They still will need to get the mileage right, and have a relatively high performance version, but that's about all it will take. People in the US seem to think that the Japanese rule in the small car market. Not so. In Europe, where there's a full range of small Japanese cars available as well as European makes, Fords, and GM's best small cars, guess which ones rule? It isn't the Japanese. Small cars with top notch driving characteristics are hit wherever they're available. They're just plain fun to drive and even people who didn't buy them for that reason end up appreciating this aspect of their performance. Well designed small cars are very different from the bland Camry family size cars. To be big hit, they'll have to get 30 mpg in the city, 40 or better on the road. But that's not all that hard to achieve today. Ford has all the "right stuff" in its European small cars and these qualities will quickly be noticed here, just as they were with the Focus.

Fiesta will be a US top 10 car and it will stay there, the Fiesta never leaves the UK or European to 10 best selling cars list and most other countries it sells into.

 

Yes its small but is a nice little earner for FOE as nearly all get sold to the private buyer, and l can only see fuel prices sky rocketing in the future so it will be a win win for Ford.

 

Fiesta breaks the mould when it was released back in the 70s it was Fords most boring car in the entire range now it is FOE most exciting the rest have gone the other way its funny how things change, gotta say it will get me back in Fords showrooms a place l have not visited in ages.

 

Ford should pick up a lot of news sales once new visitors get behind the wheel of the exciting new Fiesta and test drive the car, l hope it brings back some of 50% market share Ford have lost over the recent years in the UK with other cars and stops the decline, but the Fiesta has never let FOE down from day 1 its always been a top notch top ten car with high private buying high profit margins nice little earning car thats just got a hell of a lot better.

Fiesta is Fords best selling car in South America, l can't ever see the KA ever being popular in North America because its not in Europe.

Ford only managed to sell 2,800 KA's in Europe last month sorry to sound negative but it needs to be axed the Classic Fiat 500 has killed KA sales stone dead and from what l have seen from of the new KA things look like they will stay the same, sorry to say it but l think Fiat have gone the extra mile even though they are almost the exactly same car using the same platform l can only see one car picking up all the sales in this car class.

 

Still the very exciting new Fiesta will steal a lot of sales from Fiat as it is a lot more roomy and a lot more practical to own, practical & exciting a lethal sales combination you only used to see from Fords of the past it looks like the Fiesta will be building the lions share of the 500,000 cars.

The F-series has been the best selling vehicle in the US for years and years...no so in other countries...

 

I seriously doubt that the Fiesta will be in the top 10..maybe the Top 20

Fiesta makes it into the top 10 in nearly all countries it sells not sure about India though and with fuel prices heading only one way up the Fiesta will soon be the worlds best selling car Ford have already sold more than 12.5 Million Fiesta's worldwide that is a hell of more sales than that of the Toyota Camry only the the Model T and Fords best selling car of all time the Classic Escort have out sold the Fiesta worldwide.

Will the Fiesta, above entry level, come standard with a 6 speed duel clutch transmission and an Ecoboost engine?

 

Will SYNC and GPS be options on the Fiesta?

I agree with you. Just pointing out that the Fit has in fact sold over 10,000 units in a month, that's all.

 

Fiesta blasts the shitty Honda out the water in Europe it will do the same in the US, Honda is crap in Europe as an entire company Honda only sold 21,052 cars in June thats Accords, Civics, Fits the whole lot thats piss poor, the Fiesta sold 31.033 units and that was a bad month its more near 35,000 so the Fiesta outsells an entire company in Europe, gotta say the fuel efficient Fiesta will blast those fuel guzzling Honda cars out of water when it arrives in the US as well.

 

Honda Fits & shitty Camrys piss poor sales don't even come close to the Fiesta's 12,500,000 already sold worldwide.

dual=not necessary...synch probably in upper level...and question are you comaparing the Fiesta with the Rabbit? 2 different class vehicles....

All I know is I can't wait to have the Fiesta in my showroom. People right now are flat out OBSESSED with mileage ratings on cars. Alot of times, all they look at on the window sticker is the rating. They go from car to car looking only at that, and then ask me what kind of car it is. Looking at sales numbers is one thing, but dealing with customer's needs first hand, mileage is a huge factor. Alot of salesman can switch people to similar, or preowned cars to make a deal, but almost everyone that comes in starts out looking for gas sippers. They might leave in a Fusion, but chances are they came in on the Focus. Having the Fiesta will open up even more sales, not just for that car, but others that get similar mileage. I just hope the mileage rating on the little guy is reflective of it's size.
