A few months ago I mistakenly posted in the Ford employee forum with some good things to say. Much to my amazement I was told that many non-employee posters had mosly negative things to say.

Soooo I thought I would give non-employee posters the opportunity to say good things about FOMOCO and it's employees.

I will get the ball rolling.

We bought an '09 Escape Limited 4WD V6 in Sept. We have about 3,400 mi on it. This vehicle is AMAZING. I have crawled over, under and inside it and it is flawless. The motor/tranny combo is amazing. The thrust is breathtaking. The sound of the V6 at full throttle is reminiscent of the Ferrari F430 I hear when we go to Laguna Beach.

I am a Ford lover for good reason. Two of the three GM trucks I have owned had problems. A new 1974 blew a head gasket and the clutch went out at about 30,000mi. The other was a used 25,000mi 1980 GMC. In downtown Ensenada in 1992 the transmission input gear crystalized so that the output shaft just spun. Stranded in Mexico. I had no problems whatsoever with the 1973 454cid 3/4 ton I bought new, but I had to sell it after about 8 weeks due to the Arab Oil Embargo.

I had an '84 Ford Escort that I turned in to the junk yard with over 200,000 mi on it without ever taking the head off. It was running fine. I was just tired of it.

I have also owned an '89 mustang 5.0 sedan, an '02 F-150 and currently own an '04 F-250 4x4 PSD crew cab. All excellent vehicles.

One of the biggest thrills of my youth was the first time Ford won Le Mans, Daytona and Sebring all in the same year. Ford won Le Mans 2 or three times after that. I was also thrilled when The Daytona Coupe won the FIM manufacturers championship. The firs time ever for and American car.

After reading so many posts here I have come to appreciate the fact that PEOPLE built my vehicles. I wish I could meet them all and thank them personally. It breaks my heart to read about the troubles Ford employees are having. You guys are in our thoughts and prayers.

If I can keep my job we plan on buying a 2010 Flex or Fusion or F-150. We don't make a lot of money, but we live very frugally. And have no kids.

Keep up the good work, guys.

Hey

I own a 1997 F150 XLT 4.2l v6. It has around 101,000 miles on it. I have had some problems...lol... I had to replace engine because of a coolant leak into cylinder head, but I haven't had any problems since then. This is my first vehicle. I plan on getting a new F150 within a year or two of my graduation from college or graduate school (if I go for a Masters). I've decided that I'm only driving Ford for the rest of my life (I've even bought stock lol). My dream vehicles are a new F150 and a new Mustang. I'm only 20 and it dissappoints me that many people my age have such a negative perception of Ford and the other domestic brands. I get into a lot of arguments about it haha. Anyway thanks for doing such a great job, keep up the good work. I'll keep spreading the info of Fords new vehicles and the praise.

GO FORD!!

Here is a list of the Fords my wife and I have purchased new.

1984 Escort (bought new after graduating high school, was stolen a year later)

1987 Escort

1988 Mustang 5.0 coupe

1991 Ford Probe LX

1992 Mercury Cougar 3.8

2000 Explorer

2002 F-150

2004 Mustang Mach 1

Other than the Explorer, these were all very good vehicles. The Explorer problems were dealer and Ford Customer Care issues, a long story. The F-150 has been the best of all of them, never needed any warranty work or anything other than tires, a battery and fluid changes. I posted a thank you on BON to all the Norfolk workers for the work they did on my truck back when it was announced the Norfolk plant was closing. I hope all those former Norfolk workers are doing well as I hope the same for folks going through the current tough times.

I will add my .02. I am in the auto industry but do not work directly for Ford. Our company is experiencing the same turmoil all though not on the same scale. My hope as well as yours is that people start buying cars again.

I have been a Ford owner for several years. I attend several Ford swap meets and drag race my 91 GT. Let me tell you why I am a Ford fan.

I bought my 91 GT 5 speed as the second owner with 75,000 miles in 1996. I traded an 88 GT for this one. I like to drag race, so obviously the 91 has seen several trips down the 1/8 mile. I raced it stock, then with bolt on's, then with a 100 shot of nitrous (2 seasons). I would drive the car to the track (65 miles one way), bolt on the slicks and launch at 5800 rpm on nitrous and powershifted all gears. I stopped at 125,000 miles to build a motor as the wife and I built a house and I got a 3 car garage out of the deal. Up until the day I parked it, it never once broke or left me stranded. The original axles, clutch and longblock had never been touched. I have since built a new 302 and began racing again. Although this time, I beefed the rearend to handle my abuse. The car has the original paint, no dents or rust and it is far from ragged out. I have had several cars, but this one will be with me forever. I am also a diehard Ford truck guy, having everything from a 78 F150 with a built 400M to my current Excursion with a V10. Included in the mix were 3 Super Duties- V8,V10 and 7.3 diesel (loved that one). I suppose I am just comfortable in a Ford and not one has ever let me down. As well, I am familiar with them. My wife has an 06 Five Hundred that is simply amazing. The car has 37,000 miles and the only real issue has been rear brakes. It returns fantastic gas mileage, is very comfortable and roomy, and looks like it is worth more than it is. Still no squeaks or rattles.

I do not want to hear any more crap from lawmakers that the big three do not build cars that we want. What was the best selling vehicle again? Thats right. Not a Prius.

To the Ford employees- thank you for building cars and trucks that I want and keep it up.

Since 1985 we have bought mainly Ford products and all of them save for the 1999 Taurus that was nothing like the 1993 SHO it replaced, were great cars/trucks. Far superior to the GM crap we used to buy. Another thing that earned my loyalty to Ford was, shortly after taking delivery of our 1988 F-150, Ford reimbursed us for the cost of the power mirrors that they had decontented and then re-added to the XLT trim package. I really like the looks of the new F-150, but my dilemma is that my diesel Super Duty is paid for, looks almost new, and works flawlessly (knock on wood)...so, in this case, owning a superior product is keeping me out of the market for a couple more years. I am eagerly anticipating the next SHO and the Ecoboost F-series introductions since I know it's only a matter of time until fuel costs skyrocket again. Glad to see that Ford is getting back to designing 'fun' vehicles that won't cost an arm and a leg to operate.

Who the hell would steal an Escort? LOL

LOL, That's what the police said! It was parked at a mall and when I came out it was gone. The cop said "nobody steals an Escort, you must have parked it somewhere else". So after searching the mall parking lot for an hour he finally did a police report. The insurance adjuster said "Parts is parts" then explained how vehicles are a targeted for parts, not necessarily desirability.

I am 44 years old, and have never purchase a new vehicle that was not a Ford.

*My 1985 Bronco II was subjected to extreme abuse (heavy 4wheeling), and held up fantastically.

*My 1991 Mustang was my daily driver, and my show car/drag car/autocross car. I built it on the weekends, primarily using Ford Motorsport parts (they always fit well, and had few assembly issues). This car was my pride and joy, and you could eat off of the engine, even when it had 105K miles on it. I won many a show trophy with this car, and still miss it to this day.

*My 1993 Eddie Bauer Explorer slowly morphed into a rockcrawler. It had a fabulous platform to work with, with strong components. It was also the most comfortable off road vehicle I ever had the pleasure of being in. Short of A/C issues, that truck never had a problem that was not the fault of what we did with it. I also miss this one.

*My 1994 F150 Lightning is still one of my most loved vehicles. I miss it to this day, and will own another someday. What SVT did with that truck, was nothing short of amazing. The handling was some of the best that I have ever experienced, as the truck really "talked" to you. Even though the limits weren't as high, the experience was similar to what owners of first gen Miata's had............ handling wise. I sold it in 2002, when 1 was 8 months pregnant, as it did not have the 3rd seat. Even with 116K miles on it, it was like new.

*My 2001 SVT Lightning was one of the funnest vehicles I ever had. It may not have handled as well as my '94, but the power was truly something to behold. It was intoxicating. In its 68K miles with us, it never gave us a lick of problems............ and did more work as a truck, than most 3/4 and 1-ton trucks do (lots of towing). We sold it in 2005, because it wasn't being driven.

*My 2003 Mazda Tribute was a fantastic vehicle................. and a perfect mommy-mobile. With AWD, it handled the winters with ease, and had all the comforts that one could ask for. The only thing I didn't like, was the transmission............... but it never gave me any problems at all. I sold it to a 90-year-old man, in June............... with 63K completely trouble free miles on it. It also looked brand new.

*My 2008 V10 F250 CrewCab Lariat is my latest new Ford. It may only have 4000 miles on it, but I love it already. We have crawled all over this thing............... and the way it is built, and overbuilt, is truly something to behold. The comfort, quiet, effortless capability of this truck, means that it should be with my family forever. No problems with it yet (short of condensation in the headlights)............. and I am not anticipating any. The 6.8 V10 is a fantastic engine, and is probably the most underrated engine made. I thanked the workers at KTP for building my beautiful, and fantastic truck.

I thank all Ford employees, for all of the wonderful experiences they have given me.............. through my vehicles. I have treated all of them well, and they have treated me well. As a matter of fact, all of my experiences with my Fords, is the reason that my husband is an EX Chevy guy.

Here is to many, many more years and decades, of fantastic Fords. They are my passion.

I wanted to say thanks to Ford & its employees. I LOVE driving my 06 Mustang convertible around. I've never had so many compliments from complete strangers before in my life. My kids love it too! My 'Stang is the one below at the park.

It had an initial problem due to fumbled work at the dealership, but since then it has absolutely sailed!

Even my toyonda-bent coworkers mention how they'd love to have a Mustang but are afraid of the high maintenance which of I course I love countering with Ford's reliability improvements and stating Mulally's mission to dominate the market.

Then they ask "who is Mulally?" They always say wow when they learn he was boss at Boeing.

Oh the joy! Thank you Ford folks... you are doing awesome. Keep it up!
