chevys
NO on the clear tail light sections. GO on everything else. Totally agree. Looks too ricey for me. I have no idea what is up with that trend but it sucks.
JZ150
I think it should be written into law that every person in America must travel with a Digital Camera!!!! The cameras on cell phones leave a lot to be desired. I really wish that pic of the two sitting side by side was clearer. Looks good though. Drake
Don't like the clear tail lamps. Takes away from the Interceptor concept styling to much.
silvrsvt
I'm slightly disappointed, I'd thought they would tweak it a bit more styling-wise then they have Boy gonna be a bitch replacing 20in tires on it, when I get one LOL

chiefstang
Maybe if they'd made a 2010 Sable... ........ Sorry, I'm standing in the group of people that will be high-fiving and throwing confetti when they announce the closure of Mercury. Dead weight, unnecessary, and exactly the same as the Ford versions with a different grill. Ford doesn't need Mercury any more than GM needs Saturn. Or Buick. Or Pontiac. Or... StevenCaylor
you have only had four cars since 1965? Yes 1965 Mustang coupe 289 auto (stolen and stripped in 1983) 1983 Escort GT 1.6 EFI 5-speed (needed tires. TRX size wasn't available. Good excuse for a new car) 1987 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe 5-speed (after 250000 miles, drivetrain was good, other things nickle and diming me to death) 2000 Mustang V6 coupe 5-speed (still going strong at 85K miles). In order of 0-60 times (stock) Mustang 7.2 T-Bird 8.5 65 Mustang 10.9 Escort GT 11.3 (actually considered quick those days for small cars)

rmc523
Hmm, making room for a big battery in the rear? Or maybe the new dash pushes the front seats back a bit? Does it maybe have the footrests from the Flex which might steal some legroom away when so equipped? It looks like there's still a LOT of room back there so I think it's reasonable that they took some away. The footrests don't take up any room really, they're completely removable....it's just a triangular shaped, carpeted piece of plastic that can be put in and taken out of the floor in front of the seats. NO on the clear tail light sections. GO on everything else. I agree. Me likey the wheels.
JZ150
I posted this same thought in the "Mustang F-150 motor news" thread. I have been wondering if the Taurus will be available with two different Eco Boost versions. The standard 350Hp version to be available on most trim levels and possibly a hotter version for the SHO/ST. With the info posted in the other thread that the F-150 will have a 400 hp version of the EcoBoost could a 380hp version be the SHO/ST motor? Maybe the first application of a DSG gearbox? Just a thought.
NickF1011
Maybe the first application of a DSG gearbox? From what has been said on that front: no.

RichardJensen
Apples to Apples, huh? Before you guys go stating that it should be auto vs. auto, let me remind everyone that no one on here had trouble comparing the 1st year Challenger SRT8 (auto only) to the Shelby GT500. So that wasn't a fair comparison and you couldn't compare them because the GT500 didn't offer an auto or vice-versa? I think most conscientious posters noted that the Challenger was auto only--including at least one who noted that the Challenger at a local drag strip was turning in pretty disappointing times and that, since it was an automatic, it couldn't be due to driver inexperience. Edmunds, on the other hand.........................

rmc523
A photo from the 2010 Taurus gallery on NetCarShow: I'm sure that system will completely replace the factory keyless entry pad on all models when they're each redesigned. Now the kind you buy as an accessory or something will likely (and unfortunately) have to be the 'traditional' stick-on keypad.
jasonj80
I have noticed that ford really scaled back on the lighting on the new Taurus No HID headlamps, No LED Taillights and No Fog Lamps. At the level of cars the Taurus is priced at should include them at least as an option. I figured with the Flex offering the HID's and LED's that would be a new trend at for to offer them on high trimlines, but seeing they are absent on the Fusion as well as the New Taurus makes me think that HID will not be on any Ford. It was nice to see that the Taurus has Tri-Color Tail lamps, something that is missing on most of Ford's Line.

I agree that the HID/LED lighting should be standard on Limited models, and optional on SELs, like Flex. I could understand not offering it on the smaller vehicles, but with Taurus, especially with the other options it has, it should be optional.
