silvrsvt
http://www.autoblog.com/2013/07/25/presidential-limo-what-will-it-look-like/ The MKT/MKS mashup doesn't look bad at all!
papilgee4evaeva
I actually like all of them.
twintornados
Here is a thought, if the chassis is to be "truck based" due to the heavy duty requirements of the vehicle, then base it on the Transit Full Size van for the strength needs, and put an Ecoboost V6 with a two mode hybrid design transmission so that we can highlight our commitment to producing a vehicle that can be both elegant, efficient, and durable.....Call it MKP Presidential sedan, and call it a day. Mark B. Morrow
Since it doesn't matter what the limo looks like since it's going to be built on a truck frame, I'd vote for one that looks like a '61 Lincoln. That said, The MKS/MKT looks pretty good in the rendering.
phil1336
Wonder if it will be equipped with Daytime Running Lights "DRL`s". I guess the Federal Government must have a Fleet "FIN" so they could order Option # 942 for $45, you think?
LDB415
If it's to go into service in the next couple of years it should have a giant dunce cap on top.

jpd80
I'm beginning to think that a SD Armoured Truck would be a whole lot cheaper...
phil1336
If it's to go into service in the next couple of years it should have a giant dunce cap on top. jpd80; Sorry to disappoint you but after checking with Inventory/Commodities, the last available "dunce cap" was already allocated and installed for previous President George W. Its presently located hidden in the brush at his Ranch in Crawford, TX. It was a "Special Order" after the Weapons of Mass Destruction ploy and when he did the Photo-Opt on the Aircraft Carrier on Thanksgiving Day where he unveiled the Banner declaring, "Mission Accomplished"! Was pretty impressive wearing that Fighter Pilot Jumpsuit and crawling out of the Jump Seat once the (real) Pilot landed. Guess you must have forgotten he had his Flight Orders pulled when he could no longer land even a Cessna Instructor Plane! The "Mission Accomplished" banner was borrowed from Halliburton`s Shareholder Meeting!
packardbob
What's wrong with the Limos they have now? They're only 4 years old aren't they?
papilgee4evaeva
What's wrong with the Limos they have now? They're only 4 years old aren't they? As I understand it, they want to keep the limos looking like cars that are currently in production. The DTS is dead, so I guess they want to exfoliate. Moosetang
What's wrong with the Limos they have now? They're only 4 years old aren't they? Only The Beast model is newish, and it's 6 years old. The presidential limo fleet has multiple vehicles to accommodate the President's travels at home and abroad, and as of today that fleet still includes some hardware from the Clinton era. It's those which need to be replaced. After The Beast and even some of the older Caddy limos have had trouble navigating, I also wonder if the Secret Service are looking for something just a tad more small street friendly. phil1336
Phil, that wasn't my post you quoted...:shrug My apologies, sorry. It was in reply to Poster LDB415 but noticing he is from Houston and probably a Gov Rick Perry and Senator Ted Cruz and Congressman Louie Gohmert supporter, understandable. NO shortage of Dunce Caps in TX. Funny, State Capital in Austin and none of the brains from UT have infected many Legislators there. The must have an excellent immunization program there to stop the spread of common sense. Edited July 28, 2013 by phil1336

LDB415
Common sense is only right wing if you are too far to the left. UT et al are not at all repositories of common sense.
