jpd80
Another piece of the puzzle is that roughly twelve months ago, Magna bought Getrag. So Ford has a major transmission supplier in Magna powertrains and its Getrag aquisition. Edited April 7, 2017 by jpd80
Bob Rosadini
Ok guys. Considering the question as to the possibility of a new medium duty cab, with 150, 250, 350,450 pick ups now aluminum and KTP sourced, and with chassis cab 350 (?)-450-550 now produced in OAP, the only use of steel Super Duty cabs is 650-750-other than replacement parts. Seems like a good case exists for a purpose built medium duty cab. Who stamps aluminum cabs and steel cabs today given age of this thread? fordwindsor
Windsor Site - Windsor Engine and Essex Engine in one complex. Windsor makes 6.8L V10 . Essex makes the 5.0L V-8 WEP Windsor Engine Plant and EEP Essex Engine Plant are in the same city but are located several miles from each other. The Windsor Engine Plant site has a smaller physically seperated facitlity on site called The Annex which is the third plant in Windsor. The Annex does head machining and will be assembling the future 7.X V10 engine beginning in 2019.

Craiova is also building Figo right? And are we sure B-Max is ending or EcoSport is just being added? I haven't seen announcement from Ford about B-Max being discontinued. MKII
No Figo being built. As of April B-Max is no longer available for factory orders as per dealership information. No official announcement from Ford regarding B-Max production ending, but with order banks closed, and no sign of a 2018 model it looks like it is dead. That said the financial subsidies, deal between Ford and the Romanian government is based on a guarantee of so many vehicles & engines (1.0 EcoBoost) per year, which has been modified recently to give Ford up to 2025 to meet those per year unit goals. So my guess is that Ford will assemble the new Fiesta Active in Craiova alongside the EcoSport, and current B-Max owners are hoping that the B-Max lives on. rperez817
Craiova is also building Figo right? No Figo being built. The new Ford India plant in Gujarat has lots of capacity. New Figo was a flop in its home market. http://www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/cnbc-tv18-comments/poor-figo-aspire-sales-tests-fords-multi-product-india-plan-1022159.html Exports of new Figo to Europe as the Ka+ started last August. http://www.autocarpro.in/news-national/ford-india-starts-exporting-figo-europe-sanand-21213
jpd80
how about it guys-where are cabs stamped-aluminum and steel I remember Pioneer saying that al the Aluminum stamping for F Series is done at Woodhaven, As will the new Expedition / navigator frames so it wouldn't be hard to imagine Ford adding the MD cabs to the mix. Maybe production volume is prioritized to F150 and SD at the moment niot forgetting that the SUVs begin production in September....... and yeah, apparently some half assembled SD cabs have been spotted heading to Avon Lake. So ..Half assembled cabs??-as opposed to fully assembled? What has been the norm for OAP 650-750? Dearborn. KTP does most Super Duty stampings but Dearborn does some of those too. So who does the steel cabs?? Thank you both for a response.

Isn't Woodhaven getting out of the stamping business and becoming some other plant? I though there was something about that in the 2015 UAW contract. I though there was something about that in the 2015 UAW contract. they're still doing stampings, but they're getting a whole new hot metal forming department. For what products they will be doing that for remains to be seen. Edited May 30, 2017 by fuzzymoomoo
