Edstock
Well, something that size with the ST 2.0 and the RS AWD and active long-travel struts and maybe the new 9-speed might never be Trail Rated, but it might do quite well. Then there's the 2.3 or maybe a 2.7 for an RS mini tribute to the Bill Stroppe-prepared Baja Broncos. http://www.frontiernet.net/~jmray/bronco.htm Edited February 15, 2015 by Edstock

probowler
And just who would be the target audience? Environmentally-responsible Prius owners who want to go tear up the trails, jump in the mud and go fishing? Outdoors men who like to explore, go on hunting trips....but be Eco-responsible at the same time? This is a terrible vehicle........

LincolnV
Has anyone looked at a review of the Ecosport? If you haven't, here's one from the U.K. Regardless of whether you like it or not, it doesn't seem quite ready for the North American market at this point. http://youtu.be/ilt7CrYn358

Smaller vehicles appear to work better in those areas. So yes someone there may want a vehicle that can be taken on some light trails and be driven in the city.

That's why I'd like to see one off the next Focus AWD platform, with shortened wheelbase. That way, it is designed from the beginning for the North American and European markets' expectations. Might even scare an Evoque or two as a result, with the 2.3.

I'm sure down there were the roads and the trails are teeny weeny it will do the job it was built for. But stay down there it must. Biker16
Biker16 says they can sell a bjillion of them....... Did I? I think the global sales of the Ecosport was ~450,000. Far more than any wrangler fighter or bronco.
