I would hope Ford does some improvements to the Flex if they are keeping it around longer. There is a small but loyal following obviously. I personally like it but my wife doesn't so I guess I am not getting one.

While Ford moves production to mexico, remains Capacity constrained on Compact CUV production, and is cutting shifts at it's compact car plant. Honda Invest $40 million to move CR-V production from mexico to build it Alongside the Civic in Indiana.

 

I guess that is difference between planing at the vehicle level and Ford's planning at the corporate level.

 

And Escape inventory level of 83,000 more than covers that production constraint

Without the need for a second plant ... Which could be a mistake if the economy softens.

 

And just because Honda is moving CR-V to USA with Accord does not mean that

Ford should be building Escape with Focus - there's no direct correlation.

I've said it before and I will say it again. If Ford makes some improvements to the Flex, we will likely buy another one in 2 ish years. If they don't, well, we will just have to decide if we want a new 10 year old vehicle before they kill it off.

I like the Flex, too, but my wife doesn't like it. She calls it "the hearse." I've heard from a fair number of people that resistance to buying a Flex comes from the wife, not the husband.
