Completely taken by surprise! It was 70 degrees, and I was on the 13th hole when I decided to check my email. I was having a decent round, but after I read the email, I didn’t care his the last 5 went (well maybe I did. There were bragging rights on the line). From Ford, my truck is scheduled for production the week of March 28th. Holy s***, I just ordered it 9 days ago!

Now I’m confident there will be delays, but I wasn’t expecting it until sometime mid-summer, so I’m certainly not going to complain!

After the BS I went through with the first dealership, I’m glad I made the decision to go elsewhere and place another order.

Congratulations!  9 days is simply outstanding and hopefully it's a sign of things getting better.

What I don't comprehend is how an order of only nine days ago (and well equipped at that) gets scheduled when there are months old orders out there that have yet to be scheduled.  Heck, I felt very lucky to have had my truck scheduled in ~4 months as many others are waiting longer.   I'm sure there is a process but from the outside looking in.......

I don’t comprehend it either! Honestly, I hesitated posting, but I figured some might have wanted to know what’s being chosen for production.

Mine is an F250 7.3 Lariat ultimate FX4 with the BAP. So it does make me wonder truly how much of a commodity constraint the spray-in really is.

Im definitely not complaining!

I do hope it is a sign of better times.

That is nice. I ordered Aug 24, dealer called Jan 2 and told me what was delaying my order, I ended up deleting AS, spray in bed liner, tonneau cover, & 5th wheel prep. F250 Platinum 6.7 CCLB. Jan 20 got a VIN and build date for 2/24 then rescheduled for 2/27.

So. Ordered a f350 King Ranch with fifth wheel prep and spray in bed liner December 1st. Seeing the horror stories about delays so figuring won’t see it until maybe August. The worst part is the dealership took my trade December 1st so I no longer have a truck to pull our camper. So decided to bite the bullet and go buy a used truck to hold over til the King arrives. Drove two hours to check out a truck. Got half hour away from dealership and my dealer for the King calls and says. WE GOT THE EMAIL. BUILD DATE MARCH 28.  Talk about timing. Turned right around and started heading home. Must be my lucky day. Decided to stop off at casino with the deposit for the used truck was going to buy. Walked out $800 to the good. Lucky day for sure.

I’m waiting for the “shipped” email on a Platinum with AS and Bedliner that was built 1/31.

I’m told there are no holds for chips etc and it’s on the ramp.  What’s the average time it takes from built to shipped?

I ordered 10/4 so not as long as some.

I think this has to do with the dealer's individual unscheduled order bank.  It would seem his dealer received enough allocations and likely did not have a large backlog.

What's the typical turnaround on these trucks from "in production" to "built"? I read somewhere that Ford produces a F150 every minute. How long does it take to build the F250?

Someone said previously that they build 8,000 a week:

I dropped several options at about the 3.5 month point and two weeks later I was scheduled.  I dropped the spray in bed liner, folding bed cover, bed step, and several others but kept the 5th wheel prep as I already have the Ford 32.5k puck system hitch and the gooseneck puck system ball/safety chain points.   I did this based on info from this forum so thanks to everyone for that!

I'm just glad to finally be scheduled.  I'm hoping for the sake of others that are waiting that all these trucks getting scheduled quickly is a good sign that things are moving a bit faster.

Am I the only one who thinks it's rather odd that most people still checking this thread have been waiting months yet today on this forum and another there have been quite a few that have placed orders in the last 5 days and alright got a build date. I've not been waiting as long as most, order placed 12/6 and confirmed same day, but it's just an XL CCSB 4x4 7.3 and 4.3 gearing zero commodities that are causing the hold up on mine that I'm aware of either.

Every one of the thousands of parts on any specific truck can become a temporary commodity delay.  All it takes is a delayed shipment.

And I get that but some of the trucks I've seen with super fast turnaround have been high trim highly optioned trucks. I placed my order $500 below invoice, it was the cheapest dealer in the area by far so I suspect they've had people coming from 100s of miles away to do the same which would result in more of a back log. I was changed to priority 10 this week but dealer said that won't really do much for me.

Maybe every minute but it takes almost a day to build one,  I believe a super duty is 22 hours I’m not sure if that’s assembly time or total time inc paint etc…..

There are 10,080 minutes in a week assuming 3 shifts 7 days a week. Regardless if it takes 22 hours or more if the trucks meander down the production line and one pops out every 1.5 minutes per day you would have 7200 trucks a week. If the line has to pause a few times a day or week the numbers would move up/down. I believe Ford has reduced to one shift per day because of supply chain challenges. So production numbers will by cut by at least 2/3's

I ordered a F-450 Platinum on September 04 with all options except AS and was at a priority code 19 when mine got scheduled for build on 02/28. It did get bumped last week to 03/07 but the week it was scheduled was still at a priority 19. Hope this helps. Also, I ordered from a very large dealership in Charlotte, NC and still waited for a while.
