2026 Ford Mustang Drops Universal Garage Door Opener   As per sources familiar with the matter, the universal garage door opener is no longer available on the 2026 Ford Mustang at all. Previously, the feature was included in select Mustang trims and packages, and could be had as part of the EcoBoost Premium 201A High Package. It was also standard on the 2025 Mustang GT Premium trim, and was also bundled into the Dark Horse 700A Deluxe Package. For the 2026 Mustang, though, it’s not available at all.   Meanwhile, inside, the 2026 Ford Mustang gains black foot pedals on EcoBoost Premium and GT Premium models, while the auto-dimming frameless rearview mirror is gone from EcoBoost Premium and GT trims, replaced with a manual flip framed mirror.     Dropping the garage opener, and a flip mirror in premium trims?  Come on Ford....

On May Day (May 1) 2028, the UAW will not settle for anything less than retiree health care and a real pension,” UAW President Shawn Fain said in a recent livestreamed town hall address, according to the Detroit Free Press. “Our goal is to win retirement health care back for every single worker. Our goal is to give every worker a pension that isn’t at risk of evaporating when the market crashes.”

2026 Nissan Leaf First Drive: Back In The Game

I've driven a 2020 Escape and have a 2024 Bronco Sport and they are more or less identical from the drivers seat. The Sport might have a firmer ride then the Escape does, but they more or less drive identically. I know the Sport is shorter overall, but I couldn't tell you how the rear passenger fit is, but I don't really care because I don't ride in the back of those vehicles 99.999% of the time.    As for the EU-the Bronco Sport would make a better argument for that-its already in production in Mexico is smaller then the Kuga(Escape) and is "different" enough. But I also think much of what is being said is just the automotive press creating rumors since nothing solid is coming forthright from Ford. They also could get Equator or whatever it is called from China.   As for your marketing email, your reading WAY too much into that. Your gonna be sorely disappointed for at least another 18 months or so. 

Yeah, this happened on the Lightning for 25 and people have just been swapping 24 visors as it uses the same connection as the vanity mirror.  It’s the kind of little thing that ticks people off though as some do not notice until after purchase. 

Surely they’ll make it a dealer installable option.  Most buyers have a garage door and it’s a simple visor swap if the visor has power.   It was bad enough they only offered it on some trims.  My 2018 F150 XLT didn’t have it so I had to buy and swap out a Lariat visor which was a PITA because it had no power (no lighted vanity mirror).  Had to run wire over to the overhead console.

What is needed is to figure out if Ford is making a profit higher than 4-5% on Mediums...if not, the axe will swing and Avon Lake produced Mediums will drive into the history books get parked next to Class 8 tractors...I believe that they do generate more profit even at lower sales due to all the use of existing hardware....but could a refresh to a "new style" aluminum cab be in the offing to increase the profit on a relatively small scale production wise? I don't believe it would take too much to do and producing one cab style as opposed to one from steel and one from aluminum for the other chassis cabs that are also built there should give you a savings and resultant increase in margin that the shareholders crave.
