Agreed with all that. But, a 2.7L I4 with 355/455 is pretty impressive. That's more torque (and 130 more HP) than a 7.3L '97 PowerStroke diesel. -

So the 5.7 has 402/428 while Ford's lowly 5.0 has 400/410 with less displacement. And they have 5.0 versions with 480 and 500hp in the mustang. Not impressed. And the 6.6 seems totally unnecessary in a half ton (as would the ford 6.8) and just seems to be for bragging rights.

They'll "respond" with a new F-150 (2028?), followed by new Super Duty (2029?), and "F-100" (2029-2030???). I don't really see them doing much until then aside from tinkering with packages like we saw with new base Raptor trims and stuff like that.

I was going by the original article that said IF they offer the new one in Canyorado so they weren't sure. But 405 is way more hp than 350 and claiming something is the most powerful except for this other one is the epitome of stupid reporting.

Good news, my f350 King Ranch is arriving at the dealer in 2 to 3 days. Mid August got vin with Sept 7 week for production. Shipped around Sept 17. Can't wait. Rob

Well, you can get a Ranger Raptor with 405 HP and 430 ft-lbs of torque, so that's 55 HP more than the GM. The torque figure is pretty impressive in the GM though. I still question, is that much necessary in a small pickup?
