Not $40k worth.  Trucks and offroad SUVs have far more potential for upselling.  Nobody is putting 37s and a lift and off-road shocks and skid plates on a hatchback.     Doesn't mean they shouldn't offer accessories or upgrades but it' nowhere near the same.   Bronco Sport badlands is about as far as you can go with that type of vehicle and it's only a $6k upgrade.

I said stuff like that.  Bigger offroad wheels and tires, 4wd, suspension lifts, huge power upgrades.   Bronco starts at $40k.  Raptor starts at $80k. F150 starts at $40k.  Tremor is $65k.  Raptor $80k.   Show me that kind of spread from a FACTORY sedan in those price ranges.

What I'm saying is there's a way for Ford to capitalize off of it. They could offer more accessories that generate a profit on something like a CE1 hatchback. 

Yeah, but how much of that comes directly from the factory with a huge profit margin for the manufacturer?  95% of the stuff you mentioned is all aftermarket, which does nothing for Ford's bottom line.

We agree on some things, but I personally disagree with you on this. I believe there's a sizable portion of consumers who like additional options and aftermarket accessories on their cars, and it's not exclusive to enthusiasts. Your average consumer isn't gonna throw a bigger turbo and an aftermarket exhaust onto their Camry, but you see them personalizing them fairly often. Aftermarket wheels, maybe a subtle spoiler, or a speaker upgrade. Those kinds of things. That's not even getting into the enthusiast side for sporty hatchbacks and sedans have huge modding potential.    I could see an affordable CE1 sedan or hatch with Slate inspired customization options actually doing alright in the marketplace.
