My guess would be weight. Thinking back to the Bronco of the 90s with its roll down full window, that tailgate weighed a TON. 

Have there been any trustworthy rumors regarding peak charging speed for the new platform? The Lightning and Mach-E could only achieve a max of 160-170 kWh. You see some new platforms with 800V systems that are doing 250-400 kWh. Would significantly reduce charging times if Ford can push bigger than 170. 

This setup is how the Germans do the large 3-row SUV segment instead of the Navigator/Escalade approach.

Beautiful car, I've been waiting for this reveal.  Too bad the third row for something so large is so bad.  The current telluride and palisade and prior 3rd gen navigator was overall smaller yet had more cargo and third row room, not to mention its a three person bench, not a two person bench.

On a different note,   I was looking for some pictures of the rear window, and this popped up.   I know it's not at all what the truck will look like, but I kind of like how this looks  

the Escape/Kuga has been designed mainly for the European market’s tastes since the 2010’s as their more premium option. By inference that could explain a lot of its problems trying to make it be the entry-level mass market option in America.    Currently industry is moving by towards more localization rather than global vehicles, so keeping it in Europe where it matches the market and having the Bronco Sport take on North America makes a lot more sense. 

Farley is a former Toyota guy they don’t know any other way to market their vehicles. It’s just old habits. Separate note, its clear to see why they don’t want to be in the Escape business. Fleet sale machine and unlike other fleet sales I doubt it lead to any significant Ford Pro business.
