Kinda hard to do now that they don't make that anymore. -

Exactly. It's like Ford is seeing all the other brands making announcements, concepts, product releases, etc, and doesn't want to be left out. But their release is a new bumper on an expedition and someone else's is a really cool looking 800 hp EV hot hatch. That's why I keep saying give us concepts. Basically every other brand does, and it does nothing but help them. It builds excitement, even when concepts are revealed years in advance. It gives brands useful feedback and time to iterate. Yet Ford really seems to hate the idea of doing concepts this last decade or so. It's sad. Like I'd love if Ford followed gm's example and did futuristic mustang design studies like what he did with the Corvette. Even just something like that. But they refuse. -
Yea, for sure. F-150 Lightning Raptor would be nice too

Yeah, it seems to be a case of we know nothing is coming for another couple of years, but they're still trying to be like "hey, we're here don't forget about us!" And that approach likely works for most people that don't really follow the industry like we do, but to us, they're collective "meh" type announcements.

Yea, you’re right. Right now among the American OEMs, GM is the clear leader for breadth of its EV lineup in the U.S. market and Tesla is the clear leader in sales volume and market share. But if Ford’s UEV products are introduced on time, in high volume, and with excellent quality over the next 5 years, it’ll give the next gen GM EVs some serious competition. Chinese operations for GM, Ford, and Tesla will be essential for foreign markets and for the U.S. market too. The rapid pace of technological advancement in EVs and related infrastructure in China is astounding

I think their EVs for a legacy OEM were competitive in price and features, but I agree they have to step it up. Especially packaging, which was terrible on BEV3. To me while its not revolutionary like UEV, they were frankly further ahead of Ford and I expect GM’s steady hand to be successful in the American market. Foreign markets they will need to lean on their Chinese operations harder than ever.

Yea, among the American OEMs, GM has been doing well with its U.S. market EV lineup. But as mentioned in the article, GM's next-generation EV represent incremental improvements, nothing revolutionary like UEV at Ford, high-powered fans/suction systems and cold-gas thrusters at Tesla, and various technological announcements over the past year from them Chinese automakers. If the big shots at GM don't step up their game with EV, they may fall behind come 2030 and beyond.

Ford keeps doing this. I still remember when Ford was doing the cryptic teasers a ways back. They said it was something mustang based, and showed a silhouette under a sheet that clearly didn't look like a normal coupe, but instead gave off sedan proportions. I got really excited, thinking it was gonna be a mustang sedan. Turned out to be some generic appearance package for the s650. I think it was the California special.
