Nah I don't think it is that...because the CE1 will have multiple products built off it. I'm guessing the pickup was done first since Ford thinks that is what they are the strongest in. The issue is that it leaves other segments bare like the larger C CUV market in North America-but there is product coming, I just hope it gets here sooner then later.
GM launched a number of new EVs in 2025, with overall EV sales up 48% to 169,887 compared with Ford EV Sales down 14% to 84,113

Looks like F-150 production at Dearborn is back to normal, KC is still down, but Super Duty production is mostly back.
Hopefully January is fully back to normal for all.
Keep in mind the evolving nature of C2 which itself is a heavy evolution
of the earlier C1 released in Europe in 2004.
It is possible that Ford is continually evolving C2 for better hybrid use.
Yes, CE1 achieves all of Ford’s objectives but is it really what enough buyers want
or is it more of a face saving exercise, “ hey look, we can build and afford BEV pickup”?
That's a fair point regarding Maverick's starting price still being lower than CE1.
I have a feeling it's going to be more in line with the '97 "aero" F-150 than the more boxy models. But that's a double edged sword because you can't go too far without alienating the market (Cybertruck).
