Oh, I have thoughts, but I'll leave space for others to share their opinions.

I am sorry these dudes hijacked your post. You asked an honest question and you deserved an honest answer, instead of this.

I made the mistake of renting a first-generation bz4x for a work trip in California. It was awful, poor range, Slow charging. It was an awful experience. Since then, they have made two substantial upgrades to the vehicle and its platform, moving it from the worst EV to one of the best EVs. Now they are expanding the platform's volume across more and more segments. I think Toyota's strategy at the beginning was flawed, but they have learned very quickly how to build high-quality electric vehicles. Most importantly, they learn from their mistakes and failures and build upon them to make much better vehicles. The CH-R looks cool to me. https://youtu.be/79ScSY_ssPM?si=lFJDyzVrGCtGzKK3

Interesting backstop to their hybrid lineup - so much for Toyota not embracing EV tech in North America... -

So my guess is that the coupe and sedan will be the same platform and the this 2 row SUV is going to be based off something else with Mustang type styling. -

Exactly, a four door would need AWD because it is going to be a daily driver, not a 2/3/4th car like the Mustang Coupe is most of the time. I'd guess it would get something "easy" to do like electric motors in the front wheel as a hybrid, sort of the reverse of how the Corsair system is. if the Mach E isn't around in a few years, the Mustang sedan would be my go to for my next car. -
A couple of interesting articles on evolution of e Focus and Mach E from C1 and C2 Focus respectively. In these you can see the challenges that come when modifying an ICE platform to BEV but I wonder if Ford missed an opportunity with a slightly different design or at least mix of technologies https://www.boronextrication.com/2011/09/15/ford-focus-electric/ https://www.batterydesign.net/ford-mach-e/

it should be AWD. I believe it hurts the current Mustang sales in the cold weather states, so why limit it.

I decided to sit most of this argument out but I think this is a bit hyperbolic since nearly everyone I know that has an F150 parks it in the garage. You tend to look at things strictly from a business perspective, but this is an enthusiast site, which has many different perspectives. I look at it as a Ford fan, who wants them to have product to sell to everyone on the economic scale. I can afford their more expensive products, but I would also like my kids to be able to buy Ford products. That remains to be seen with the limited lineup and the new products coming eventually. The CE1 is still a gamble and we don’t know what the uptake will be, considering consumer reluctance and many of the same impediments in place. But, hopefully everything that is learned from it can be applied across the range of vehicles until demand picks up. Now can someone please tell me where I can find more information about this ICE Mustang SUV I keep hearing about? I still can’t figure out how I missed this.

Touché, but there is, in fact, a current Maverick. However, I would rather it be a Maverick than a Ranchero. I’m definitely not fond of the Ranchero name.
