So where do you charge?

I drive to my summer house on an off shore island in Maine from Boston every week in the Tesla.  The parking lot I leave my car on the mainland  does not have a charger.  The round trip in is 300 miles.  For me, 300 plus miles is not a something used occasionally, it is used often.  I bought the Tesla Model 3 LR with his trip in mind.    

I think it's an auto release from the cargo area (push a button, it drops), vs. having to release it from the 2nd row......don't think they're power up.

Yeah, I'm up for a hybrid, but don't know if I want to go full EV yet....maybe by the time I get a new vehicle that'll change......Or at least have one non-EV vehicle in the household for trips.

where they powered or something? I think in the past 4.5 years I've used my bronco, my back seats have been down maybe 2-3 times...so IMO not a huge deal. 

The place I used as an example is in CT and the closest charger is about 10-15 minutes away south bound (thinking return trip) but I have no idea how long it would take to say get back up to 80% charge from say less then 50%. If it only took make 10-15 minutes, that wouldn't be a huge deal (get something to eat etc) but its just adding time back to a 2.5-3 hour drive back, depending on traffic.    Given my current situation, I was looking at going EV in 2030 or so, but I think I'll just wait till I retire in another 10-15 years and just get a hybrid Mustang sedan as my next car if that is available, to hold me over till 2035+. 

Yeah, I'd be hesitant in that case as well.   Sounds like you'd have to try to stop somewhere on the way to charge up (if that's even an option).   I still think EVs are great "everyday" vehicles, but for longer trips aren't quite there yet.......guess it really depends where you're going though.   Charging infrastructure is much better than it used to be, but varies greatly depending on location.

Ford CEO Jim Farley Gushes About Vehicles In Development   In a recent post on Instagram, Farley gushed about the current state of the company's vehicle development process and some of the products that will stem from that. "Just wrapped one of the most ambitious Product Days in my time at Ford," Farley wrote. "We worked on the future of …. Super Duty. Explorer. Raptor. Our next-gen Universal EV portfolio. The Ford digital experience. I’ve never seen a product plan like the one baking in Ford’s oven right now. And this is just the start."       While I don't want time to go any faster than it already is (and seemingly going faster), it'd be nice to finally see some of these products instead of the redesign/product drought we've had for a while now...

I dunno, I don't drive that much but I do take trips that are about 150 miles one way and I just checked-the once place doesn't have an EV charger locally (with in a 5 minute drive) that I could charge up at. Not 100% if I would want to chance driving that 150 miles back with only 175 miles or less of range without recharging again.    I do agree that 95% of the time I barely drive 150 miles in a week to and from work and other errands. 

Ford CEO Jim Farley Says Additional Defense Projects Being Discussed   "We did sign a contract with the U.S. federal government to produce three prototypes. They're considering based on the Super Duty for military use. We're really excited to get into building those. We already dominate in that market in the commercial world. We want to offer the U.S. government the same advantages that our commercial customers get. And that includes great parts availability and everything else that comes along with being a leader," Ford CEO Jim Farley told investors during the automaker's Q2 2026 earnings call. "It's a great opportunity for us, I think as a company, this particular opportunity in the transportation space. We are discussing, continue to discuss additional defense-related projects with the U.S. government, but we have nothing else to add at this point. We do believe we have a lot to offer, but we'll think through this as an adjacency. It has to be a strong business with really good returns and really good capital returns."
