I have a Mazda CX-90, and while it's not as extreme a windshield angle as the "ranchero," it is noticeably more than the current generation Explorer. The young whippersnappers here find it cool, but the design leaves little room for my gnarly old head to clear the apex of the door frame, causing me to angle my back and neck rearward slightly, limbo style. The increased angle also has you looking more edge on through the laminated glass, and increases the top of the dashboard area, which acts as a heat reflector. -

Technically the Ranger isn't going away-it would be sold ROW, just not here most likely. But at this point, the F-100 is nothing but conjecture -

Auto line likes to do this sort of thing, get something controversial out there to increase clicks. Say steel body F150 EREV at Tennessee and ears prick up everywhere… (maybe they heard full sized truck and assumed it was F150?) Think about it, why build F150 at Dearborn and Kansas city as well as Tennessee…..

Like I said ages ago, those “concerns” are nothing compared to Cybertruck styling and yes, it is swept back and efficient looking which is why I warmed to the design a few months back, not as bad as it first appeared - maybe they cleaned the styling up from the early impressions. Whatever it’s going in the right direction.

Since I was having a major brain fart and couldn't remember the Chevy El Camino name, I googled Ranchero and this popped up: Ranchero /ranˈCHerō/ The term ranchero translates from Spanish as "rancher" or "cowboy" The Ford viral website for the CE1 mentioned Welcome to the Ranch....so maybe this will be called the Ranchero? I think the biggest issue is that this vehicle is going to reset or confuse people when it comes to size. People have been bitching about the F-150 getting bigger and bigger, when it really hasn't, outside of more four door models being sold. The biggest change is how high it sits vs older models, making it taller and seem "bigger" then it actually is. The CE1 pickup is going to be sitting lower to the ground then what most people expect a modern Pickup to do. I'm guessing its going to be akin to the Ranchero or El Camino.
