  1. Took delivery today ! 15 weeks from ordering

  2. As stated, the Production Week Scheduling Information applies to unscheduled orders only. Scheduled production dates shouldn't change unless there's additional plant "down time" due to microchip shortages or unexpected commodity restraints or supplier issues.

  3. Biggest thing with the 6.8L is that it would be cheaper to build and produce vs DOHC 5.0L coyote. Ford was just going with what they had at the time With the coyote.

  4. I personally think a 6.8 with an electric motor in the bell housing is A LOT better situation than a super sand sucker er I mean supercharged V8. If Ford did something like this in the Raptor they would score a major coup d’ etat.

  5. I doubt Ford will chase that. Electric is the future.

  7. Ordered 8/2, picked up 10/19. Pretty smooth process. No major issues.

  8. Doesn’t sound like you agreed on the price yet. The buyers order should detail the vehicle and the price including doc fees and any other fees, You need to confirm if they are charging you MSRP or X plan or something else and make sure the current incentives have been locked in (if they’re better when you take delivery you get those). If they won’t confirm the price in writing then you are likely to get ripped off - go somewhere else. Note that even with a price in writing they could still force a $10k adm on you at the last minute at which point you can walk away or try to fight it by taking them to small claims court or getting assistance from Ford, BBB or consumer groups.

  9. FRAP is not going anywhere. The UAW is passed off that the new battery plants in KY and TN are not guaranteed to be UAW represented. I do not see the traditional Mustang ever leaving SE Michigan. The Mustang is to Ford as the Corvette is to GM. The next generation is scheduled to be built at least through MY 2029 at FRAP. I did hear that FRAP is planning a second shift in a year or two and that stamping operations will be moved to Woodhaven which would allow the plant to be expanded. In the last UAW contract Ford agreed to find additional product for FRAP.

  10. It also says, "THIS INFORMATION APPLIES TO UNSCHEDULED ORDERS ONLY." so that should only affect unscheduled orders. If you have a build date already yours should be good assuming you don't get hit with commodity issues.

  11. Not completely accurate. Lot of interior parts are built to order and sequenced directly to the truck VIN. Engine and transmissions are built to a predetermined build schedule that is published in advance. I don't know the exact date scenario, but suppliers, and trans/engine plants are handled like any other supplier, they get the exact build quantity a couple weeks in advance and order releases follow about the same timing as the vehicle build schedule. Suppliers also get expected annual and monthly build rate a year in advance, and then about a month in advance they put out the next 30 day build schedule. It's actually an amazing process that works.

  12. What does it specifically say in the franchise agreement? If Ford (or any other legacy automobile manufacturer) had that kind of reach into a dealers operations, it would smack of a totalitarian control saved for communist states or dare I say it...a Tesla style operation where the manufacturer controls every aspect of the sale. There are pluses and minuses of every system...ADM is a big minus here but I am a person that ain't buying into that mania...when the line is up to speed, that ADM is history and the fools that blindly paid it will then complain of valuation loss when it is their own damn fault.

  13. Just thought I'd talk about my initial thoughts on the truck. F250 XLT premium, supercab, 7.3, 3.55 gears, camper/plow package, 5th prep, pto provision, It is whisper quiet inside the cab with very little road noise. All you can hear is the radio, and the 7.3L. There is no mistaking it..... It definitely sounds like a big V8 should, but it does so without being loud at all. The sound of the engine is truly addicting! I love the power of the 7.3, and in all honesty it is probably quite a bit overkill. I have yet to really get aggressive into the throttle because there is just no need. Even easy accelerations will really get you going without any effort whatsoever, even with towing light trailers ~4500#. It will quickly get into 10th gear (around 50 mph driving easy) and ride along at 55 mph at 1200 RPM. I have about 360 miles on the truck so far with a pretty even split of light trailer towing and driving around with just the truck. (no highway speeds, mainly country roads in the 50-60 mph range). With cruise set at 60 for a 10 mile stretch of road (Truck only) MPG readout got as high as 17.2, which was NO stop n go, just cruising down the road. Towing trailer around country roads 55 mph, the readout says around 11. (readout was reset for each type of driving ). In the end the readout said 12.1 over the whole tank, and upon fueling up, the hand calc was 11.4 for a pretty even mix of empty/towing driving. That was driving pretty easy and not at highway speeds. I did tow my inlaw's 17' aluminum enclosed trailer about 40 miles with it, which included 10 miles of highway at 70 mph, and the readout was around 9 mpg during that stretch. the rest of the trip with this trailer was 55-60 mph, and it said 10.8 for the trip upon getting home. I was expecting better with such a light load, but I guess you still push a lot of wind with enclosed trailers. So in summary, It will get acceptable mileage, but I'm sure it would quickly take at least a 10% hit if you drive a bit faster and more aggressively to go the flow of traffic. The truck rides about like I expected...Very stiff over large bumps but pretty smooth otherwise. I have 10000 GVW and 5600# front axle rating due to the plow/camper package. Being an XLT premium, I have a power cloth drivers seat with heat. It is very comfortable and the seat heats up very quickly - almost instant. I have never liked leather seats, and now that I can have heated cloth, it is absolutely the way to go in my book. I think the halogen headlights provide pretty good light and I'm satisfied with them. There is another thread on this forum debating LED vs Halogen and support for LED is almost unanimous. I'm sure the LED are very good lights and an improvement, but based on my experience, I don't understand why everybody thinks the halogens are so terrible and almost un-useable. My truck has Auto high beams but they are not working correctly yet, as they flash every car several times, so I had to shut that feature off. Hopefully they can get that fixed in a few weeks. I have the standard radio, and while its not a luxurious sound experience, it is more than acceptable - (does not sound like a tin can) The plastic steering wheel the truck came with seemed hard to hang on to, uncomfortable, and just looked cheap. I replaced it with a Lariat leather wrapped wheel, and it was worth every penny of the ~$390 including tax, 15 install time. Bought it on Ebay from a ford dealer that sells lots of them. The shifter knob and wiper knob seem pretty cheap and still had pretty large, sharp edges that were not cleaned up. Its an easy fix but I think they should have been installed in a more refined condition. I've added a tonneu, drop in bedlinder, console fridge, and in the process of adding plow brackets and wiring now, which is probably somewhere around 300# of extra weight. Taking off Friday for a 1500 mile trip to Montana with the aluminum enclosed trailer, and driving 1500 miles back home empty, so I should have better data soon regarding that.

  14. Good to hear this got resolved and if the dealer didn't realize how wrong they were before this blew up in their face, I am sure they do now! Good to see Ford also get involved into this situation. These dealer's are really thinking short term and if they continue to pull this crap, ultimately customer's are going to not only walk from that dealer, but a dealer all together and just grab a Rivian, or other manufacturer that is going to sell direct.
