    No. Not the reason. How often do you see crew cabs loaded with 5 workers? These days, trucks are rolling offices. Foremen use the back seat for carrying tools and excessive amounts of paper. Go to any job site and look at the back seat of these trucks. The reality is that vans are better suited for most commercial pickup drivers. But no one wants to drive one.

    The secret is there for all to see. It's called a car. People want Escapes and Explorers. Not Escort wagons and Taurus wagons of the 90s. Even though they had more room, better fuel efficiency and better ride quality.

    IMO, a Lightning should have a unique engine, like Mustang does with the GT350/500. Maybe the 5.2 FPC? A modified, high revving V10?

    Fields is the one that got the financial house in order before Mulally got there. Maybe Fields was overly cautious, but at the same time he was creating a financially stable company that could survive an economic down tick.

    The architect (Fields) and executioner (Mulally) of those plans are now gone. I don't have faith in Bill Ford or the board to do the right thing. They were the ones that gave Nasser full access to the bank account. They've now done the same for Mr. Silicon Valley. Nasser and Hackett. Two guys intent on spending lots of money to make Ford something it isn't.
