i see great promise for a nimble super small pocket rocket out of this one, put a EcoBoost in it with a little more aggressive tune and that would be one fun car, i wouldn't want to get in those back seats though....

Upgrade your factory turbo, and eliminate the back seat to accomidate sub-woofers! It's a great tuner car for a little $ Just what the market calls for!

Everytime I see it, I just know that this is the next car I will want to buy (granted, I haven't heard any concrete 2011 Focus rumors yet, so the jury is still out). But, promise me a 5-door hatch with an EB engine, and you'll have my deposit tomorrow.

Thanks for posting the pics, Furious.

I still really like it - it slots well ahead of the Aveo/Yaris/xA competition and lines up squarely against the (reigning b-market champs) Fit & Versa. My only complaint: drop the silly NA-only 4-door and give us the 5-door notchback version. Much better.

Any word on powerplant? I remember a couple of months ago Igor (I think) posted that it was using the old Escort 2.0L SPI engine (again, I think.) I hope they drop that for the MZR 1.8L. A much better choice for everyone involved - minus Ford's bottom line.

According to Farley, NA will see both the 4-door and 5-door versions.

I think I prefer the grille on the Euro Fiesta, if only because it's less ubiquitous than the Mondeo-esque grille here.

I am skeptical of the production version in the US which will probably see far more stripping from concept to production than we saw in Europe, they sell at a very low price-point here. While I'm sure the design will remain, I can't imgine we'll see projector lamps, LED tail lamps, chrome surrounding the fog lamps, fine interior materials, etc..

That Fiesta looks FANTASTIC!

Hope it handles as well as it looks!

Can't really tell in the pics, but how big is the moonroof? Or is it a glass roof?

It does have a glass roof, and Ford also had their production version glass roof Mustangs at the show also! The factory glass roof stangs should be available in the fall!

Note date on my post below. No changes and that includes no chance for EcoBoost ! No turbo, no DI. This is an "economy car" The door was opened a tiny, tiny bit for a diesel in NA a few years after job #1, Certainly not until the cost of diesel gets more reasonable.

I can now say with 98% confidence, that the US Fiesta/Verve/B-car will have the Zetec Rocam SOHC 2 valve/cylinder 1.6L as its only engine.

Although I hate to hear you say it, that does make sense. Since they are trying to sell a car this size for the first time in a while, adding turbo & DI does push the price point up which may be risky until they know for sure that people are ready to downsize.

I'm liking the wheels. Will they make production, or are they just for show?

Likley just for show, but you could see a smaller version "inspired" by them (they look like the concept's only smaller/less flashy)

I think, unfortunately, you may be right. Although, some of the things you mentioned may be available on an "SES" or highest trim model.
