NickF1011
Would be great to see the return of the SVT sub-brand. It was one of the few parts of Ford that maintained respect in the marketplace during their downturn.

NLPRacing
I hope they release it at Texas State fair .. I will be there ... :D Igor I thought the Ranger replacement was going to be shown here. I think a Pre-Runner style truck like the "Raptor" would be better suited to the LA Auto Show, or maybe even SEMA Las Vegas, as they do more Baja type stuff out there then we do here. If I was were to bet, I would say SEMA. Let me know when you come in town, I'll buy you a beer.

Ford-150
The GT500 was badged an SVT. the wheels had SVT on them but i do not remember seeing SVT on the actual body...
fbmphil
It was on the valve covers, in the owner's manual, on the supercharger, on the wheels...it was an SVT vehicle.
Blueblood
It was on the valve covers, in the owner's manual, on the supercharger, on the wheels...it was an SVT vehicle. Yup, it was all over the car if people looked close enough.. I wasn't ware the Raptor would be branded an SVT though since an off-road truck isn't their typical kind of vehicle, hopefully that means it wil be well rounded. campbell53
Having just attended Ford's spring dealer meeting, there was no mention of the Raptor being SVT. Farley spoke like all dealers would be getting the Raptor next year. We were shown a picture of it's grill. On the other hand, we did see pics of new Fusion, Mustang and Taurus. I am pumped about everything I saw today. I hope they release it at Texas State fair .. I will be there ... :D Igor
IMSA-XJR9
It was on the valve covers, in the owner's manual, on the supercharger, on the wheels...it was an SVT vehicle. Overshadowed by the name change from SVT Mustang Cobra to Ford Shelby GT500.

Farley spoke like all dealers would be getting the Raptor next year. We were shown a picture of it's grill. It could be still an SVT vehicle...the SVT Focus was sold at more dealerships then just SVT certified ones....plus can't any dealership get the GT500 now? On the other hand, we did see pics of new Fusion, Mustang and Taurus. I am pumped about everything I saw today. Did the Taurus look like the spy photo? If you haven't seen the spy photo I'll try PM it to you
wildosvt
http://www.fordperformancegroup.com/vehicles/ Find the Shelby GT500 in that link. Edited April 9, 2008 by wildosvt

Yep, Ford canned the SVT certified dealer concept back in 2002 or so. Shame too. It was usually a pretty good indicator of whether or not the dealer you were working with was any good or not. atomaro
SVT were great... Actually only the Lightning and Cobra were great...then again only 2 model years of the Cobra were great... and of course the GT500. The Focus and Contour sucked. I had a late 00 SVT Contour and currently have a 04 SVT Focus. so Im ready for ya. :shades: (I know my sig. need updating) Edited April 9, 2008 by wildosvt

IMSA-XJR9
http://www.fordperformancegroup.com/vehicles/ Find the Shelby GT500 in that link. Yup, under SVT Cobra 2007, but also states . . After Ford Division mainstreamed Special Vehicle Team operations and entered into a new business relationship with Carroll Shelby in 2006, the car that SVT had engineered to be the SVT Mustang Cobra came to the market as the 2007 Ford Shelby GT500. I know it's just a name as the GT500 is a SVT as opposed to the Shelby GT which is "finished" out west.

There's nothing wrong with "the fix" cars once either, once they are fixed. 2001 was an excellent year for Cobras, the strongest yet until the supercharged 03s came about. atomaro
Never said there was. Unfortunately they weren't up to snuff when taking on the LS1, even after the fix.
NickF1011
Never said there was. Unfortunately they weren't up to snuff when taking on the LS1, even after the fix. Beg to differ. The vast majority of them (LS1 f-bodies and 99-01 Cobras) were mid-13 second cars. You had a couple of freaks out there, but that was not typical.
