TomServo92
Link Not bad. The name needs to change if it goes to production though.
NickF1011
Unless this part changes according to one source, the platform is unique to the concept it's going to end up being another MR2 Spyder: Dead on Arrival. Certainly not bad looking though!
chiefstang
Yeah, I hate to say it, 'cause 'Yoda seems completely incapable of building a car with any styling, but... <sigh.> <mumbles> That's a hot looking car... <wince>
Deanh
pretty nice combination of some current production vehicles...i see a littl Mazda 3, definite rear saide G37...pretty nice effort...for once....
TomServo92
Since this uses a Subaru-derived boxer 4, this must be the joint-venture between the two. I believe there will be a Subaru version as well. Edited October 6, 2009 by TomServo92

V8-X
Style wise, it's okay, of course we've seen much worse from Yota. But you can tell it's a concept by that horrible interior.

AM2
Not bad at all, a lightweight RWD sports coupe... after years of making boring cars, finally an interesting Toyota. The FT-86 shows some hints of the 2007 Toyota FT-HS Concept in its styling... PS: I wonder if Ford plans to revive the Capri... ...or make some sort of modern day RWD Escort RS. NickF1011
Not bad at all. Its nice to see Toyota making a compact RWD coupe again. For Toyota's sake, hopefully it'll be more successful than their past efforts.

timmm55
LOL, I double checked to see if it was a Jelly post..... So did I! LOL Looks like a slightly better Genesis Coupe. Still, Toyota is so invested in their reliability numbers they canned anything with even a hint of soul. (Sports Cars are driven harder, and are usually less reliable statistically)
AM2
is this a serious question? Not really, just wondering since there seems to be a revived interest in RWD coupes and rumors about the Capri keep popping out every few years. Anyways, back to the FT-86, the very low Honda S2000-like nose might look odd at first, but I like that athletic stance with the wheels pushed towards the corners. It looks like AWD might not be possible with the modified platform. The FT-86 has a very short front overhang, it looks like the boxer engine is mounted further back between the wheels, I guess that means there might not be enough clearance for the front half-shafts like the ones found on AWD Subarus. In a normal Subaru, the boxer engine hangs ahead of the axle line. Edited October 6, 2009 by AM2
Sixt9coug
Wow, i like it! good looking car and hopefully a worthy sucessor to the AE-86.

The FT-86 shows some hints of the 2007 Toyota FT-HS Concept in its styling... Yeah, thats exactly what I was gonna say - a more production ready version of the FT-HS. So did I! LOL Looks like a slightly better Genesis Coupe. Still, Toyota is so invested in their reliability numbers they canned anything with even a hint of soul. (Sports Cars are driven harder, and are usually less reliable statistically) Not bad, but I agree its very Genesis coupe-like. Not really, just wondering since there seems to be a revived interest in RWD coupes and rumors about the Capri keep popping out every few years. Eh, that's just Jelly pumping out articles in hopes that Ford revives the Capri. Just kidding LOL
ANTAUS
So I remember back in middle school, someone I knew, "Adriana" was missing from school for about 4 months...she came later in the year and introduced me to her newborn baby. Turns out that she took that time off because she was pregnant and was sent off to "Aunt Mae's" to have the baby. I told her save herself the hassle and just abort. Well she tells me her name is Celica, so I'm like "Huh, Celica? Like Toyota Celica?" She tells me "Yeah, thats where I got pregnant"....so everytime I see a Celica, I think of her... wonder if now...15 years later, she tells her daughter that story... eeekkk... So is this their Celica? Isn't the Scion TC enough ? This is why I would like Ford to bring over that Capri thing concept they had... syrtran
Unless this part changesaccording to one source, the platform is unique to the concept it's going to end up being another MR2 Spyder: Dead on Arrival. Certainly not bad looking though! More than likely, Toy will just shorten up an IS platform some 6 inches and still call it a new platform. pretty nice combination of some current production vehicles...i see a littl Mazda 3, definite rear saide G37...pretty nice effort...for once.... The entire cockpit exterior reminds me of the IS, especially the side windows.
