akirby
Nothing official from Ford, but interesting and pretty jaw-dropping nonetheless. This is just a drawing, not even a real car and the designer doesn't work for Ford. It does look great though.
sullynd
Blech what a mash-up. I fully expect for this to be an industrial design student project.
97svtgoin05gt
Say what you will, this thing is hot and would constitute (possibly depending on price) the only thing Ford would ever put forth as a worthy competitor to the Corvette. Make it $65k and make it 650hp with 11 sec ets please. :happy feet:
silvrsvt
Blech what a mash-up. I fully expect for this to be an industrial design student project. I agree, but I do like the way it looks and its a very well done photo shop....
timmm55
Too much "Cars", the movie, not enough GR-1 or GT-40. IMHO

xargos
Definitely no more than someone's mock-up. Still, something like this wouldn't be too bad as long as it doesn't touch any existing Ford nameplates. Give it a new name and I could see something like this going somewhere. timmm55
Theres more than one California I know. Current model images came up first when I Googled it, I had to dig a bit for the original. Edited June 27, 2011 by timmm55
Versa-Tech
Blech what a mash-up. I fully expect for this to be an industrial design student project. I've seen worse from seasoned professionals... Hell, I've seen worse at my local Nissan dealership
V8-X
Ewww! Seen it before not too long ago. Reminds me of a Viper/Tiburon/Ford GT all mashed into one. While I do like some of the design elements, I dislike the majority of them mixed together.
GTwannabe
Yuck... looks like a scrunched Viper.
Versa-Tech
LOL, sophomoric critiques at their finest... If anything, the packaging is similar to a Daytona, but the design language is Fiesta derived (albeit mashed up). Either way, this guy definitely spent more time rendering the 3d model than he did defining the flow of the character lines... not to mention the volume of the curves, or the definition of the edges... or lack thereof... which is a microcosm of everything that is wrong with industrial design curriculum these days. Any design should start on paper and if the page isn't stained with eraser marks and squelch (finger oil + graphite), then it's probably not even close to anything worth modeling. I did a time lapse of a single view once and found that I ended up making over 3,000 revisions to the lines alone (let's not even go into shading, or weight of aforementioned lines); most of which were relative to the flow of lines in reference to other revisions. The simple truth is that, like anything in life, the final product of any industrial design can only be as strong as the foundation it's built on. True genius does not come from the first stroke, but the last rub of the eraser. The insane pursuit of perfection paradoxically yields the result which can only be revealed through limitless failure and humble reconciliation. A design which is 99% fluent, is 0% fluent in reference to the correction of the lacking 1%. True excellence is almost always the result of a mistake... And true genius can only be realized through the humble admission that such contemplations are far beyond the scope of one's understanding. Life is truly a paradox, but only as much as we perceive it.
