BORG
Thar she blows! http://www.autoblog.com/2011/11/17/2013-lincoln-mkt-shows-its-toothier-grin/ The MKT also receives several ride and handling enhancements for 2013, including Continuously Controlled Damping. The system, which is available only on EcoBoost-equipped MKT models, utilizes 46 inputs to feed data to a control unit that monitors 23,000 packets of information per second. This data is calculated 500 times per second, which helps adjust optimal damping force in only 11 milliseconds. BORG
Just slightly better, but not even remotely enough. Please discontinue, thanks!
stpatrick90
Definitely an improvement. The front end now isn't offensive anymore and if anything looks somewhat good. However the rear end (the problem I have had with it all along) needs a massive rethink, I am surprised they didn't even touch it...the light bar on the back is simply atrocious and emphasizes the terrible proportions of the rear. Hugh
Overall, it's an improvement except for the raised rear quarter. I personally felt that was not working but meh.

Hugh
Well, that wasn't going to change in a minor refresh. You are right of course. I'm on the fence with this front. It's better here then the MKS.
Edstock
IMHO, one hell of an improvement. The grille shape has been subtly changed, and the finer strakes give it a less strident appearance. This will do fine until the next one. Nice fill, those strakes, compared to Cadillac's grille treatments. More simple, more elegant.
ANTAUS
I agree, the grille on the MKT looks better than on the MKS. But it still does nothing to address the rear portion which is beyond hideous. At this point, pull the plug and fire all those involved on creating this rhino-abortion. papilgee4evaeva
The grille looks MUCH better now. Rest of the exterior, ehh...
BORG
The MKT needed a bit more money to fund its renovation, they could have done wonders if they updated all the metal forward of the A-pillar and the liftgate. Heck, they didn't even update the headlamps, which is very unusual in an MCE...infact I can't recall a Ford MCE that didn't involve new lamps. Ah well, it is an improvement but I definitely think the Flex is a more successful update. I would really like to see Ford fast-track a 2013 MKX update to bring it into the new style...otherwise it's going to be awhile before it fits in. Besides, I have selfish reasons to see something fresh for the 2013MY Edited November 17, 2011 by BORG

NickF1011
Yeah, they can write this one off now. Not nearly enough of an update here. Move on to the MKExplorer, please.
akirby
It will do fine as a Town Car replacement and in the very low volume 7 passenger luxury crossover market. None of those vehicles are gorgeous. The Q7 is probably the least offensive.

No. But I never wanted to kill a Town Car with fire.
LSFan00
From the rear license plate until the hood it still is only acceptable as a hearse, externally. I still don't know anyone who would consider getting one, but I only socially know one legally blind person (doesn't own a car).

akirby
But still worse. And the MKT still outsells it IIRC.
BORG
Well the 2013 MKX (and Edge) go into production in early Feb 2012 so we'll see.... Oh I know it's not going to happen for 2013. Why is production starting so early? But still worse. Agreed, none of these super-wagons are MKT ugly.
BORG
And the MKT still outsells it IIRC. Perhaps domestically...but globally the story is very different and that's an important distinction.
silvrsvt
Oh I know it's not going to happen for 2013. Why is production starting so early? I'd assume its mostly carry-over changes....nothing big changing on them since they just came out.
ANTAUS
I think the MKT has been one of those vehicles I can remember, that between concept (pretty), to production (butt ugly), it lost all the details that made it attractive at the concept stage.
