Deanh
There's a lot of BORG-type angst going on here because of a simple render... pretty important release when all is said and done
papilgee4evaeva
It's the Mustang. It invokes an emotional response, especially from those of us who own or have owned one. pretty important release when all is said and done Trust me, I get it. I just find it somewhat amusing, that's all.

TomServo92
...or, in my case six. Three for me (plus a '68 Cougar but I don't think it counts).
TomServo92
I visited the thread that was linked in the TTAC and the guy who did these renders also got the 2005 Mustang render about 90-95% correct. I think the General Shape is there, but its missing alot of the curvatures that will make it better looking car. Someone did this based off the spy shots from a couple weeks ago and it captures the curves the car much better IMO I think the final product will look more like this then the render that is lacking the curves that this has. I like this one. It's modern but still says "Mustang". I'm looking forward to seeing the real thing,
NickF1011
MUCH BETTER! The front end to me will probably come down to how they treat the hood. The sculpting in that rendering looks WAY better than what was in the rendering posted at the beginning of the thread. It seems to take a bit of the bulbousness out of the nose around the grille area. The flanks still look a bit dull though.
silvrsvt
The flanks still look a bit dull though. See the side shot I posted...though I'm slightly concerned with the lack of side scoops or the hockey stick not being there...

Think this may be one of if not the best rendering of the new Stang that I've seen. Just wonder how it'd look with door handles, badges and stock wheels.

Well I don't think adding door handles and badges would screw it up that badly...and the wheels can always be replaced!
V8-X
Well I don't think adding door handles and badges would screw it up that badly...and the wheels can always be replaced! Wheels I totally agree. As for badges, some vehicles get horrible badge designs that take away from the look. Would just hope it'd be easy to de-badge if this were the case. And I know handles are a small piece, but sometimes the handles selected just don't look right for the design or appear to be taken from a parts bin. Don't get me wrong though, I think Ford will do a great job with these elements on the Stang.

One thing I wouldn't mind seeing going away at all though? The faux gas cap badge.

NickF1011
Another detail: I seriously doubt we're gonna see the double Gurney roof.
V8-X
Another detail: I seriously doubt we're gonna see the double Gurney roof. Yeah, figured that design would go away or isn't realistic. Other item is maybe that front spoiler. Looks a little to pronounced for say a V6 or GT model, but could see it as a possibility on a Boss 302 or GT500/Cobra model. The spy photos do reveal an integrated chin spoiler of sorts, but yeah, not that dramatic.
