PREMiERdrum
The DLO gets ever more homologized with the Honda portfolio, and the interior would look at home in the Odyssey. Still, it's better looking than it's been for a few generations.
atomcat68
It looks good, but not like it belongs in a premium brand. If the badge were covered and I was told it was a Hyundai, or Mazda, I'd believe it. It looks like it belongs in the $40,000 range at best. The problem with Acura is that Honda models are as good or better at lower prices.

Honda's philosophy is to make Honda branded cars the best product possible, better than they need to be almost. That hurts its ability to make Acura products really stand out. But overall, this new 2022 MDX is a nice update to an already fine vehicle. Once it comes out in early 2021, 100% of Acura models sold in the U.S. will be designed, engineered, and assembled in the U.S. On that measure Acura ties Tesla and Cadillac as the most "American" car brands, though of course Acura's parent company is headquartered outside the U.S.
grbeck
At this point, Acura is the equivalent of Pontiac or Oldsmobile in the 1960s...a step up from the mass-market brand, but definitely not a luxury brand. Honda reflects Ford in some ways...just as the Ford Division has always come first (which dates back to the 1950s), so will the Honda Division always come first. akirby
Acura doesn’t exist outside North America. In Japan it’s the Honda NSX.

Honda originally planned to introduce the Acura brand to Japan Domestic Market in 2008, but the Great Recession completely cancelled that plan. Currently, China and Kuwait (through Al Mulla Group) are the only markets outside North America that have an official sales channel for Acura. In the U.S. market, Acura is currently classified as a "Tier 2" luxury brand. Same level as Infiniti, Lincoln, Genesis, and Alfa Romeo for example, but a level above the "premium mainstream" brands such as Buick, GMC, and Mini. snooter
Interior looks "busy" and "compacted".... never did hold much interest in acura branded products....as indicated above, honda badged product pretty much negates any reason to lay down more cash
T-dubz
I actually like the design of Acura’s, especially the new TLX (it needs a larger backseat for its size though). This MDX looks nice too. The only problem is I don’t think the designs age well.
