DeluxeStang
Our minds are exploding over this on other forums because ford performance out this on their social media with ford commenting, see you tomorrow, in the comments section. We're trying to figure out exactly what this is. Some have said it's a new ford gt supercar, others have said it's an F1 car. Some think it's a gt3 s650. Others think it's a mach-e. Personally, I think this could be something very radical. That wing looks too wide for a mustang, too exotic. Most racing wings are very flat, this looks like a Jesko wing. 2024-ford-mustang-gt3-race-car-teaser.webp

coupe3w
https://the-race.com/formula-1/honda-back-in-red-bulls-f1-engine-name-for-2023/ Red Bull has also been linked to deals with other manufacturers in which RBPT would provide an engine for a different major car brand to badge. It has recently been linked with doing such a deal with Ford. Edited February 2, 2023 by coupe3w
akirby
Quote Red Bull Formula 1 cars are currently powered by Honda and will be until the year 2025, right before the regulations change. Honda previously withdrew from the deal in 2021, but came back in 2022 for a partnership that was only supposed to last until 2023. The Japanese manufacturer extended the deal until the end of 2025 when, going by the BBC's report, is when Ford will step in to co-fund the development of a new engine alongside Red Bull. DeluxeStang
Some are saying that spoiler teaser was the mach-e. But the vertical pieces and the shape of the spoiler itself looks different to what's on the mach-e. Maybe ford will show something during the actual conference today? We'll see. coupe3w
Starting in 2023, Ford and Red Bull Powertrains – the Milton Keynes team’s dedicated engine division – will develop a next-gen power unit to supply both Red Bull Racing and the sister AlphaTauri operation from 2026 until at least 2030. Based around the current turbocharged 1.6-litre power unit, F1’s future engine regulations will feature increased electrical power and 100% sustainable fuels, while also improving safety and lowering costs for manufacturers. A giant of both the motorsport world and the automotive industry, Ford are set to provide expertise in several areas of development “including battery cell and electric motor technology as well as power unit control software and analytics”. T-dubz
Good, it was painful having to cheer for HAAS and them never winning. Ford being involved with Red Bull means I can actually cheer for a winner now ?

By 2026, Lewis will probably have retired, but young Russell is a great prospect. Will be tough switching to rivals Red Bull, when Ford become involved.

DeluxeStang
https://youtu.be/eiQ6r-UXzqU Solid vid overall, a cool example of how this is partnership could relate to their street cars is mentioned by Farley at just after 22:45. He mentions a very important secretive EV being developed by a skunkworks team where the areo is being developed by people who used to work at red bull. Sounds like a next gen gt or something similar, can't wait to see it. Edited February 4, 2023 by DeluxeStang
