Knowing Ford, they'll chop the passenger side off for the US lol.
Though with Nautilus and Navigator now having the full width setup, maybe we'll get lucky this time.
I remember when Lightning was first proposed - there were design drawings suggesting a "bed mounted" range extender....

We never saw the Rivian "Continental", so hard to say if we'll see it inspire anything (still wish we could've seen it).
Regarding the Star, I have to assume that its design will wind up inspiring a new Aviator?
While we never saw T3, we did see some patent images that we assumed sort of previewed it. I feel like we'll see T3 Lightning influences on the next-gen F-150, especially as it keeps getting pushed back. I think it's time for Ford to push the envelope a bit design wise, as the last few gens have been safe.
The 3-rows were apparently universally panned in focus groups, so I doubt we'll see them have an influence on much.
The issue with diesel these days is you don't get the MPG increase like you did years ago and the operating expenses are quite a bit more than gas powered vehicle.
So basically there is no real world advantage outside of maybe an increase in torque output which is negated by Ecoboost for the most part.
Let's see the specs before writing it off. I understand the concern, but if the specs are there that basically combine the best of both worlds.....
I remember reading Ford's initial announcements saying EREV Lightning woudl be at REVC.
So reading between the lines, weight will probably fall somewhere between Lighting and 3.5 hybrid.
It'll be interesting to see what power numbers are.
Ford tried the F-150 diesel. It didn't sell....they won't add another.
Well, that did not happen....and it has been orphaned ever since.
It was supposed to be an updated Taurus and Continental on CD6.....but, surprise surprise, Ford's plan changed.
