The New Mazda CX-5 Is Almost Here
So much for phasing out the single number CX-_ models. Obviously we can't see full details yet, but looks more or less like the outgoing one from spy shots. It debuts July 10th.
At the moment, there’s over 1,200 platinum 3.0 V6s available at Ford dealers nationwide,
so looks like maybe Ford is dropping the 3.0 V6 in Platinum because of low take rate?
Just remember, Hyundai Santa Fe looked like this in 2018 before the remodel...
Then, it was redesigned to look like this in 2024....
It is only 2.2 inches longer than the Santa Fe it replaced....I can see Escape doing the same thing on C2 Global using Maverick chassis for it's start.
The ST is the line topper (Tremor for the "off-road" crowd), the Platinum is for folks that find 300+ horsepower adequate in their "sedan"....my Timberline had a sufficient amount of hustle for the 2.3L Ecoboost.....jus' sayin'.....
So spend for the best, and get the cheap engine? Urrggg, I call that "mediocre rich"....like my uncle who would by an S-Class, just to say he had an S-class and yet smallest engine and no options. As Bzcat said, force the upsell. Honestly at that price point, the buyer wouldn't care anyways. So how can Platinum be Plantinum, when it's tarnished by the cheap engine, wouldn't that makes it "Titanium"... since it's cheaper than Platinum... right?
