I think what's important to keep in mind is passion, and exciting products, they're relative to the segments they compete in. The maverick hybrid is arguably the perfect example of this. Prior to owning it, we'd never owned a truck, only hatchbacks, and sedans for our smaller car.
Along comes the maverick, and it's perfect. It's small, it's affordable, it uses a hybrid system that's been around for decades and is proven to be super reliable, it has a good warranty. Is it exciting relative to a mustang gt or a GT supercar? No. Is it more exciting and passionate than the blob shaped hatchbacks driving around? Hell yes.
That's the sort of thing we're talking about here. I think people need to understand Ford is still gonna be competing in most of the segments and price points they're known for. They're just gonna turn those vehicles into things you actually want to own. The escape gets replaced with an electric crossover of similar size and price, it's just something more attractive and appealing. That sort of thing.

It seems to me that this concept adds to the cost of charging. Rivian offers free coffee in their lounge? Maybe Starbucks could offer free charging with your $19 iced triple carrot liqueur, pumpkin rind, ground leek latte. I wonder if the travel plaza franchises are waiting for some tipping point to go all in with 25-50 level 3 chargers on site. Many have food courts and/or restaurants, C-store, laundry, showers, even legal or insurance help at some.
Then again, as soon as some venture capitalist goes all in on a string of charging lounges, a technical revolution will happen and a 10%-90% charge will take 6 minutes

I do not see a 50% improvement at all. Motor Trend picked up on 500 total miles with 40 gallons of gas being no better than 12.5 MPG, and that’s not 50%. And if 140 kWh battery accounts for roughly 150 miles, the remaining 350 miles on 40 gallons of gas is worse than comparable normal Thor RV, and that’s without the aero and weight improvements they made to EREV that could also be applied to a gas motorhome.
The RV has potential for owners who dry camp near home, but for long-distance touring the market will be limited IMO. The real advantage is the electrical system used for camping, and most people don’t need 140 kWh for that. That’s why I think a more traditional PHEV with smaller battery makes more sense for more campers.
I totally agree. As mentioned above, Ford has a history of using black appliqués, however they have been integrated nicely as opposed to this large expanse of black, which makes it look unfinished to me. If there was a brake line across the top under the window, it probably would’ve been fine or adding color in some other form somewhere In or around that section. If I bought one of these, I would have it painted body color if it were feasible.

it would be interesting to see what it would happen at this actually took place. When somebody has a personal connection to a business, there seems to be a lot more passion involved in trying to be successful.
Tbh, the black applique is a good idea. Me personally, i don't think they implemented it well, considering the design of the tailgate and lights as well as the rest of the car, it potentially could've been very tasteful with the design they have. I actually think the new design wise looks way better than the new armada. The armada was able to do the same black tailgate applique, but its far more tasteful to my eyes. They didn't force the applique for boldness sake, they added it within the design of the tailgate.
I have no idea what Harbinger could offer Ford, but I do find that rear axle interesting for truck use. Most trucks, including Tesla Semi, use rigid axle with motor(s) mounted directly to them, but the Harbinger axle is a DeDion design that reduces unsprung mass yet maintains leaf springs. Obviously Ford could just copy or develop their own if deemed advantageous.
