Hopefully nothing that boring. -
This move is not surprising at all, considering Honda just canned their other EVs. On top of that, this product (brand?) never made any sense anyway, IMO.

Not gonna lie, I read that as "BMW HOA". Blame my background in real estate work before the car biz. 😄 On topic, I realized a couple weeks ago that the F-150 tailgate C-clamp pockets that used to be standard on every F-150 no longer are. I think they're part of the bed utility package now, but they're not mentioned in the order guides at all. Not a recent development, but I forget when that very quiet change happened.

You sure about that? Here is some info on the one I was thinking about: Here’s Why That Rivian R1T Repair Cost $42,000 After Just A Minor Fender-Bender Most of it seems to be due to a very large unipanel being used as the rear fender/cover of the bed extending to the roof section. That seems like its more poor decision making due to a lack of experience-they wanted to keep the look vs making it easier to cheaper to repair. -

The "horror stories" had little to do with the giga/mega/unicast parts and the expensive repairs were due to damage to the EV battery casing which would cause the insurance companies to total out the vehicle rather than risk an issue down the line with a damaged and repaired casing. It was an unknown risk to them so they just raised rates across the board for EV's and to a lesser extent hybrids to try and cover their expected loss actuary tables. -
Remember all the doom and gloom when Ford switched F Series bodies to aluminum while GM and Stellantis went the higher tensile steel route……. CE1’s construction process will most likely end up saving Ford a lot of money plus at worst, cause zero increases in vehicle repair costs…

The latest version of Equator Sport ( and I assume Equator) were heavily reworked by Ford and while they’re not C2 are definitely blessed by Ford Engineering. Feeling is this is affordable China modules integrated int design results in much lower costs. Smart use of Chinese based vehicles.

Mondeo probably won't last beyond the current gen. Ford could easily replace it with 4 door Mustang or UEV sedan. Nautilus can be paired with Equator just as easy as it is being paired with Edge for development purpose.
